Northern Realms, love their focus on siege also helps that Foltest is their leader card, all I need right now is more Poor F****** Infantry cards.

use foltest siege buff card
>spies and decoy > put frost cards > spam hero units (which are easy to get after some quests) > your heroes are immune to frost and it makes the enemy lose cards spam sieges and buff, won
all my hero cards in northen realms are melee except yennefer, and they are op aswell 15x2 10x3 7x2

My northern realms deck its at 190 total deck strength and just kicks a$$ i love gwent i hop they make a stand alone game of it and release it on andriod/ipad lol

I'd love to see the list. 190 power worth of creatures sounds like a lot. It also sounds like it'd bloat the size of your deck, making it rather inconsistent.

Are you playing monsters?

Gwent is fun, but somewhat lacking balance-wise: no need to have poor cards (like 1 point regular infantry) and heroes can't be really counterplayed. In the end it comes down to pushing the strongest cards in. Dies were simpler and more balanced, because even 1 on the die didn't mean you lost the round. Other than that it's a fun game.

I play Nilfgaard. My deck mostly resolves around spies, decoying and medics. The speciality of the nilfgaardians, so to speak. I've got the full NR deck aswell, but I feel NR has a lot less sustainability, the lack of a decent amount of medics can really harm them when playing long rounds.

I'm also of the opinion that both Monsters and Scoia'tael, but especially monsters, are tremendously underpowered, no spies and medics for Monsters and no spies for the Scoia'tael, while those are the most important cards to stretch out games.

Northern realms because it takes like 40+ hours and act 2 + to gather enough cards for the other decks. Any Gwent tournament or difficult players are already dealt with at the point you have enough cards to play other decks. So IMO northern reals for the whole game because by the time you are done with the most difficult Gwent opponents, noone is left so why bother switch them around?

This is criticism btw. Other decks than Northern needs to come into player aquisition earlier in the game.

GWENT TOURNAMENTS?!?!!?!
NO WAY!!!

Im only level 10 but ive played so much gwent with random folk. So you are telling me there is a tournament I can enter!!!

this game is just full of surprises

Northern Realms ftw, the Siege Battle Horn commander ability and the extra faction ability draw on winning a round just makes them such an easy/satisfying deck to excel with.

For me weather controlling is also the most satisfying way to beat an opponent (however is countered by the excessive later game hero card spam sadly).

130 strength spamming melee cards? Passing the round? Silly monster deck, you just activated my trap card. Biting Frost.

I managed to find myself using the Nilfgaardian Empire simply because i've got the most cards with them. Though my Northern Realms and Scoia'tael decks have improved greatly, i may start experimenting with them. I am having trouble filling the Monsters deck.

Late-game I actually switched to Scoia'tel as my primary deck. All the spy cards in Northern Realms eventually make it OP.

To be honest, I wasn't a fan of Gwent.

Now...I am getting the hang of it and enjoying it more. I wish there was a better "in game" tutorial about it. I let it pass me by until now....at Jrs Casino

Agreed, Nilfgard starts to build only to fall behind again during Novigrad, and it takes finishing most of Novigrad for Scoatiel and a good section of Skellige for Monsters before they can even be realistically considered outside a change of pace, even then they have trouble competing with an all out high number Temeria deck.
