As someone who's been playing TCGs and CCGs for close to twenty years as well, I share your sentiment. I find it baffling that people think provisions are not healthy for the game.

Yep. At least the people here admit that Homecoming was.... not that great and talk about some of the issues:
It's a first step. If they actually implement good changes the game could get interesting again... I hope so. Right now Homecoming is worse than old GWENT, to put it clearly. At least they went beyond denial now and admitted their mistakes.

I would be okay with the 10+1+2 Draws he is thinking about, but I would prefer we try 10+2+2.

yehh.. they said they are turning gwent into battlefield & left the battle field only for warriors & archers. No love for machines

I don't even mind if they introduce moving board like Artifact but 3 rows & spy cards are heart of the original gwent which i am missing too badly.
