The default also looks miles ahead with Hairworks because he has actual hair, not like two dozens of strands of paper that wiggle a little and have low polygon count.

If the default hair with Hairworks had looked liked it did in the January footage I might have agreed with you. As it is now though the default hairstyle looks horrible with Hairworks enabled, I'm sorry.

There is a reason why many have asked for an option to turn off Hairworks on Geralt, why a mod that enables just that was created and why it became so popular.

"It's just horrible because I said so and because all these people agree (ad populum)"

That doesn't really work, sorry.

I've seen the Jan version and there doesn't seem to be much difference + it had a ton more clipping issues.

Shaved with a pony tail is the one I'm currently using.

The only thing I dislike about the pony tail is that it clips through the Mastercrafted Ursine Armor (with or without Hairworks).

They really could have done a better job with collisions. Set up an exoskeleton barrier very close to Geralt's body and hair with which clothing has to react.

Could I get a link for that Jan version?

I wonder where Geralt buys his hair gel.

Hair lumps together when wet, what's the issue?

And they tend to do that when you don't treat them and wash them every day, didn't know Geralt was fancy enough to treat his hair thoroughly (as seen with Hairworks). ^^ Let's be honest, Hairworks makes his hair looks "fabulous!" as opposed to rough and dirty (how it should look in his situation).

It felt like no effort was really put into it, I mean Geralt with a soul patch or mutton chops seriously even a crew cut or shaved head seems way more plausible...It's seemed as they just tried to whip some DLC as fast as possible, most of the hairstyles and beard styles are unused.

My only real complaint when it comes to Hairworks is the lack of movement .... With Hairworks off - Geralt's hair seems to move more in the wind ... With Hairworks on - Geralt's hair seems to have too much weight and hardly moves in the wind ..... It's abit of an immersion breaker - But I love how his hair get's wet and that to me personally counts alot for immersion .....

Yup, they should just take them out and redo them because they add nothing to the game. The only hairstyle I see even the tiniest bit of use is the mohawk-ponytail which even is at least bit lore-friendly.

Can someone explain me why Geralt hair are grey with heirworks?

HairWorks is suppose to simulate real hair, in direct light hair is naturally brighter and has more luminescence. Since you're indoors, there's little in the way of direct light which makes Geralt's hair look greyer than normal. Because even without HairWorks there's dynamic lighting on Geralt's hair it doesn't change colour as radically. Another thing to point out is that Geralt's hair is white, lacking pigmentation makes it near somewhat transparent.

TLDR; Both use different textures
