Hairworks is getting closer and closer to being viable with each patch

It appears I may have other issues, as I just put in another GTX 970 as planned, and see no performance difference in this game. I can lower settings from Ultra to Low and see a 10% gain in fps, so that's pretty solid proof of this.

EDIT: Battlefield 4 now runs at double the framerate, and 3DMark Firestrike also demonstrates working SLI.
