Hairworks - monster only

Does anyone besides me support a monster only option for hairworks? I think that Geralt with hairworks looks like a shampoo advert guy, it seems a bit fake that only he has fancy hair and the rest doesn't. Also, it is fair too demanding, game runs fine from afar, then, when you're indoors or climbing some stairs the camera zooms onto Geralt's head and the games drops by 20 fps.

On the other hand, monters with hairworks looks simply great, I woul love to see a monster-only option. What do you guys think?

I agree. A monster only option would be great.

Yes, I think that the hair looks way better with hairworks turned off. The problem is: it sucks to turn it off those majestic furs and manes from the beasts/monsters as well.

And what about - hairworks only for geralt's beard ?

+1 to having much more hairworks options. I also love the hairworks implemented on the monsters. I also think that Geralt's Hairworks just sucks. So either improve the tech to have it always on while improving the look of it while playing. Or just give us as much options are requested here.

Couldn't agree more. Some more defined Options would be great.

If you are on PC there's a mod on Nexus that does just that:

This, along with a strength/performance slider should be in the game.

Mods are not (yet) a viable option for a long term solution... they're ok, for messing about till another patch comes along.

If CDPR doesn't add the option then mods are the only solution available you have. Patches mean nothing at all as you can simply re-insert the changes in the new patched files. It takes just a second.

Awesome find! I totally agree with Black_Iris. As long that these options are not made available in a vanilla version of the Witcher 3, then modding ONLY option. Like squeezing some more power from your GPU/CPU with overclocking. Or jailbreaking/rooting your phone.

Saw this mod yesterday, already endorsed and using it, it works like a charm! There is even an option if you want to keep the everything (even geralt's beard) but his hair.

Yep, now I can use HW with HW MSAA set to 0 on my GTX760 and still maintain 60 fps unless a lot is going on...

HWAA=0 is OK 'cause I run in 1600x900 with no PP AA, with a great sweetfx setting to sharpen it back up. Best overall look and performance I've found so far.

Much better!

(Though it should be said that I can run Dolphin at 4k+ with AA at 60 fps in the most demanding titles!!! And, for example, Brutal Legend at 1080 with 2xSSAA+8xNVAA+sweetfx SMAA at a solid 60 PFS!!! And, Skyrim with 250+ESM/ESP's with a total of 350+ mods and a Mod Organizer Mods folder over 60Gigs LARGE at 60fps solid)....

This, to me, just goes to show that TW3 is UNOPTIMIZED.

Yeah, hairworks looks great with beards. I don't mind the way it looks on hair but it moves around a bit too much; the lightest breeze makes Gerald look like he is in some shampoo commercial.
