I'm not worried. As stated this is a very early build, pre E3. and in the later stages of development the devs are focusing on optimizing the game, so have some faith, there's still plenty of time left.

Probably, footage on SoD trailer run at ultra setting, this demo is running with high setting beacuse frame rate issue.

Could you please link me a source to that statement? I've never heard about that.

Still, this is strange: The Sword of Destiny was also pre-E3, but the graphical difference is huge. I just would be glad to know if that level of quality is still in the game or has been scrapped entirely.

It's been stated by Marcin on the forums, it's the same build as what we saw on E3.

I wouldn't say they're graphical downgrades.

From the E3 trailer the game looks more washed out and there is no sharpening on textures , but I think this is a design decision to get closer to the look of the first game and farther from the over bright look of the second game.

If for "fine" you mean they are enough for you, that's ok. But there is a clear downgrade from what they showed us some time ago.

It has been confirmed by Jose that the demo was running on PC at max settings, although he does add that this is an old build - and the game does look a bit better graphically in its current state.

Make of it what you will.

I'm starting to think people actually want the controversy enough to see flaws everywhere. Just waiting for that excuse to jump down CDPR's throat again.

You're thinking wrong then.

That's an assumption, one that needs to be corroborated by the devs since they didn't mention anything about this,

Here is a better quality comparison:

EDIT: ehh, no it's not. Something went wrong during uploading. whatever.

There are other parts of the footage (Downwarren vs. SoD) that can be compared 1 to 1 and look quite a bit different like the ladies of the woods showing themselves to geralt. it's much darker and less colorfull in SoD trailer.

Yes, it's obvious that this is worse graphics than on the trailers.
Harpies don't drop feathers when you hit them (even TW2 had that effect), also the fire on the grass.
But I think we shouldn't worry to much about this at this state.. it's still work in progress.

wrong or not, I'm now wondering why three people have had to quote me to defend it now?

Because you're making the assumption that any just skepticism is an affront on CDProjekt when that is simply not true. I love CDProjekt and have been a fan since the Witcher's release, but with the state of the video game industry where developers cut corners - especially with multi-platform releases - I am justified in being skeptical of potential downgrades. It is not impossible, and despite CDProjekt being my favorite developer, everyone is susceptible.

Well, demo looks great.
I definitely noticed some graphical, animation, VA, UI and level design issues which I'll be talking about, but I can't pin the first ones on the alleged downgrade, not for now at least.

Let's do this the loyal way:
@Marcin Momot , Would you please clarify whether there's been a graphical downgrade since the VGX trailer or not?
Much appreciated.

Well considering CDPR treats gamer equally, it's no big deal that PC version was gimped. It's the same thing as the UI that they promised but was not given. They have to treat all platforms equally so i think we probably very much need to deal with it.

So you're willing to bend over for developers and "deal with it" if they feel like gimping the stronger platform? I'm sorry, I love CDProjekt as much as the next fan, but this is a complete fan-boy remark. Statements like that is why developers take advantage of video game players. Compliance to poor developing and business choices is why the industry is in such a poor state.

Don't think you're entitled to an opinion if you can't back it up, and don't bother making a post if you don't want others to respond to it. Simple enough?

You have to understand PC is no longer CDPR main platform. In business, money come first. It's all about money. That is why the XB1 CE exclusives card happened. Nothing for me or anyone to bend over it. CDPR has broken their core values. Isn't that obvious already? Even you get worked all out, CDPR is not going to change. Besides the latest trailers looks not that bad. So just judge it when the games out later.
