Has anyone encountered this in the arena?

Clearly there many people who are not having this problem or are working around it, but this bug keeps persisting. When you approach an enemy archer and just as he is making the switch to melee and you use aard on the archer, it has zero effect, thus wasting a point of vigor. Has anyone else ran into this?

Yes, if for example u charge at the archer, dmging him, and immediately after u try use Ard, it has no effect.

I get the same which is why this fight is difficult, they cheat.

There are small bugs regarding how the archers work IMO.

Yup that happens but while they are getting ready for melee you can still hurt them with your sword...I usually end up killing them that way also.

It's alright, I've found a workaround. Beginning is really hard, player has no abilities, not riposte. I think that's why rolling and quen are so popular.

so dont use aard. just kill them with sword blows

u can use damn aard, just not need to use it right away...
