Help! Random Crashes!

I have a Gaming PC with i7 2600, Gtx 560ti and 8 Ram, this should run this game on high settings.
Ok , i have most of the time 60 fps, no lags nothing to complain, but then suddenly i have a crash to desktop, i have noticed, when i turn the settings to the lowest settings it runs fine, but i don't want to play on lowest settings.
Any Suggestions? I wanted to email the Game support, but they are not avaible until 2. Januar 2013.
I have the Steam version.

What's your memory usage settings?

Let's see your settings in general, maybe something can be spotted :D

With that system, you should be able to play on high settings.

Have you checked for overheating? If not, it would probably be a good idea to check that first.

Also make sure that your graphics card drivers are up-to-date (but not a beta version).

My graphics card is 80 degrees hot, when im playing.
Cpu 40-50 degrees.
I'm playing bf3 without any problems, no lags no crashes.

Do you receive any notifications in your taskbar about a video driver has stopped working and has recovered? Or maybe an autoupdater like a virus program pops up a window telling you that your definitions are now up to date? Have you made an exception in your antivirus for witcher 2? Have you also tried verifying the game cache?

I don't get any notifications, when it crashes, i tried to verifying the steam cache, it didn't help me.
I think, maybe my virusscanner blocks something from witcher, i made some exceptions for witcher 2.
I hope it helps and soon i will post if it works...

I have played a hour and i have still no crashes, i think my problem is solved after i made exceptions for witcher 2.

I have a question, if i want to get the gog version of the witcher 2, should i enter the steam key of the witcher 2 on gog?

I don't fully understand why an antivirus program would break TW2 if run with anything but the lowest settings?
What AV do you use?

I`ve had this happen with other games. When the antivirus program detects any hard drive activity it starts scanning (real time scanning). Some antivirus programs use a lot of CPU power that there`s practically nothing available for anything else. Of course since the advent of multiple cores it`s not as bad as it used to be. But it`s still there.
