Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a custom mod for Cyberpunk 2077 where I replace the start screen video and change the background music. I’ve run into two major issues and was wondering if anyone here could help clarify or provide a more precise workflow.
Issue 1: Video (BK2) not playing – black screen
I’ve tried converting a video to .bk2 using RAD Video Tools (Bink 2), but when I launch the game, the screen stays black. Interestingly, when I take the old working .bk2 from a previous version of my mod and reuse it, it plays fine. So it seems like something’s wrong with the new encoding.
My questions:
Issue 2: Changing audio length for Wwise track
I’m trying to loop or extend a music track (Wwise ID: 749435057, fading into 117878362). I followed this guide:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aV7Kypro31M9ila185M-mL6kb7FoqZJlXuaMul50n58/edit
It helped a lot, and I edited the following:
Still, in-game the behavior feels off. Either the song cuts early or the next track starts too soon.
Questions:
Any help or insights would be much appreciated. If someone is deeply familiar with the .bnk structure or has working examples of properly converted .bk2 videos and adjusted audio timing, I’d love to connect.
Thanks in advance!

My questions:
- What exact RAD/Bink2 settings (version, resolution, framerate, audio settings) does CP2077 expect for the start video?
- Are there known compatibility issues with newer versions of RAD Tools?

It helped a lot, and I edited the following:
- WEM Duration (radio.bnk)
- Segment & End Marker (radio.bnk)
- minDuration/maxDuration (eventsmetadata.json)
Still, in-game the behavior feels off. Either the song cuts early or the next track starts too soon.
Questions:
- Is there another hidden value or event that controls radio/music timing?
- Has anyone successfully looped or extended custom radio tracks in 2.1+?
- Could this be affected by streamer mode or segment switches?
Any help or insights would be much appreciated. If someone is deeply familiar with the .bnk structure or has working examples of properly converted .bk2 videos and adjusted audio timing, I’d love to connect.
