Help with Voice Sets?

Voice sets are those things that characters say all by themselves, as if they were addressing the Universe, or maybe just themselves -- things like "My balls itch" or "You're getting old, Granny." Some of them are said to Geralt as he walks by, but not in a conversation -- things like "You bring trouble" or "White-haired, I admit I find you...." There are LOTS of voice sets in the main game and a few in The Price of Neutrality, and I find it makes the game much more alive. These are different from overheard conversations, where two characters talk to one another without Geralt; I've figured those out (http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=23017.0).I can get the characters to speak aloud to the Universe, but I can only get them to say one line; they won't rotate among the different lines. I've tried putting scripts in the conditions box of the conversation, but that only works for regular conversations, not for voice sets. I've looked at the voice sets in PoN, and there are no condition scripts in the those voice sets, so that's not the answer.I've looked at the character templates of the characters with voice sets in PoN, and they seem like perfectly ordinary character templates except for 1) having TWO tags, the second of which is listed as the "owner" of the voice file in the properties box and 2) an entry in the voice set box. Of course my characters have both of those things. One strange thing is that my characters will only utter their Creature Pause lines if I have "Behavior Coward" checked in their profile. WTF?I've looked at the NPC story files in PoN, and there's no special action for declaiming lines to the universe, the way there is with "chat" and "tablechat."I've looked at the 2DA files in PoN, and there don't seem to be any special entries in there, not like the dlgcategories.2da that one needs for overheard conversations.Okay, guys, what am I missing? What do I need to do to make the characters rotate among the different options? (Please don't tell me to put a script in the condition box of the properties pop-up for the voice set conversation file -- 1) I've already done that and it didn't work, and 2) The CDPR voice set conversation files don't have any such thing.)Thanks for any insight or assistance!

How do we get official help? I went to the modding help page, and it said,

I didn't work too much with voice sets so far and I don't know REDs way of doing this, but you can try flags, f.i.:
battlecry_enemy(10): message1Required Flags: message1: 0After Flags: message1: 1battlecry_enemy(10): message2Required Flags: message2: 0After Flags: message2: 1battlecry_enemy(10): message3After Flags: message1: 0, message2: 0

It should work tha same as in normal dialogs. If you want you can also ask REDs via this e-mail: adventures@thewitcher.com

And nobody here will make any profit of their answer...I don't like complaining, but frankly, that's probably why there's so few mods available.

But nobody forbid her to show the answer here. The real problem is that whether she will get the answer and when. I was usually waiting for a few weeks. So if you, Corylea, want to get answer faster, try to write PM to Eriash and ask him to pay attention to your request or turn to ska-cze or endrek - one of them should be able to help you.

I didn't realize that flags worked with voice sets, too -- thanks for that! The REDs aren't using flags -- that was one of the first things I checked for -- but it sounds like it will work, especially if I set all the flags back to zero as soon as the last one is used.

Thank you! Their e-mail address is missing from the page that claims to contain it. I don't know what you did to get this top-secret information :D, but thanks for sharing it with me!

*blink* Do you really think that I won't share the answer if they give me one? Sheesh, I've devoted tons of time and attention to helping people on the Witcher forum. If the flag work-around works, I probably won't bother them, but if I do end up asking the REDs for help, I'll certainly share the answer.

Well, The Witcher doesn't have as big a fan base as say, Neverwinter Nights, so there's a smaller pool of people to choose from. And Djinni has a bad reputation, poor thing. I understand that it was quite hard to use in the beginning, but the kind and generous souls who explored it and posted their findings on the Djinni Wiki have made it a lot easier for folks like me, who came along a few months later. To make a new adventure, one needs to be able to think both logically and creatively (or have a team that includes both types of folks), and when I try to explain Djinni things to people, I realize that this is a rarer combination than I'd thought. But for those of us who can think logically and who also have at least a smidgen of creativity -- wow, making a new adventure is the most fun you can have with your clothes on! :D

Flags didn't work with voice sets, at least, not for me. Did you actually get them to work, or when you told me to use flags, were you just speculating?

I were just speculating. I will check it if I have a while. And in a meantime you can write to REDs.

Whew! I misunderstood and thought that they were working for you, and I was wondering what was wrong that they weren't working in my game.Okay, I'll write to the REDs. If they tell me anything useful, I'll post it.Thanks for your kindness and collegiality!

I ended up deciding not to bother them. Or perhaps more accurately, I decided not to put myself in a position where they could snub me and make me lose my enthusiasm for the project; I don't want to feel about the REDs as Hexenmeister Raven does.I decided to just use a lot of SpeakOneLinerConversation instead.Sorry I don't have any new data for you, but thanks for following up.

I figured out there is a function PauseVoiceSet() which can play random pause-voiceset. But this is a solution olny for one group. I searched for something more, but there are only functions like PlayVoiceSetVoiceOfTag(oSource, VOICESET_TAG_) without posibility of setting randomness.

Interesting. That might work well on a trigger....
