HIgh Stakes- Invisible player

Has any one been unable to initiate the high stakes gwent quest.
After talking to Sasha, I'm supposed to talk to the other three players, but the Gnome/Dwarf character is invisible(i.e. there a floating name where he supposed to be) and I am unable to initiate a conversation with him, and therefore unable to start the quest. Any thoughts?

This answer may seem obvious, but you've tried reloading an earlier save before the quest and seeing if it happens every time or was just a fluke?

Numerous times. Tried doing a couple quests in between to see if that would fix it. Tried changing the dialogue order, going outside the room and coming back, to no avail.
