Horrible Performance...?

Got an HP Pavilion dv7 with Intel Core i7-2820QM CPU @ 2.3GHz, 10GB RAM 64-bit Win7 ATI Radeon HD6770M GPU

And I can barely move the mouse in the game, Low-Spec, windowed or not, nothing seems to make a difference!

Any ideas?

I have a Quad core 2.33 GHZ. ATI 4670, 8 GB of RAM. Not a great system, but I can manage 30 FPS with low settings.

I have laptop with core i3 370M, nvidia geforce 310m, 8 gb ram. I can run this game w/ middle setting, high on shadowed light, low on shadow, everything enable except ubersampling, ssao, rain effect. Try to modify the res, i have 640x360 w/ 16:9 ratio. very low.. but i dont have a high rig, so its worth for me. dont force out the resolution, try this res instead for 16:9 ratio 1064x600, 1000x560, 856x480, 800x450, 640x360(lowest). Add this custom res to your OS, and apply it on witcher setting. i hope this will solve your prob. oh for ati user, switch the msaa to application setting, enable it from witcher setting.

Do you run the laptop on battery or mains whilst running the game ? on my wifes DV6 machine the graphics default to the standard driver/card when running on battery and the ATI when its plugged into the mains,i believe theres settings to change this though

I always run plugged in. I cant tell if it's using the standard card or the Radeon. I've tried disabling the standard, disabling switchable graphics, to no avail. I get maybe 7FPS once in game. The 'start' menu work fine. Once I click on start game, it goes to #($*...

Ahhh!!
