Is CDPR even making an appearance at E3 this year?

CDPR is not on the exhibitor roster; see http://www.e3expo.com/homepage.cfm

However, the Polish Embassy is. They "will promote Polish electronic entertainment industry". Dice+ will be featured: http://www.e3insider.com/exhibitor/view/433/diceplus

Exhibitor space at E3 sold out fast. They have promised to provide better accommodations for small and independent exhibitors next year.

Star wars 1313 looks really good, thats more and less what I would like to see from Cyberpunk combat + those classes with special skills like in ME3 and ofc with sick next level Red_Engine environment effects and graphics details.

No waist high cover please.

Another suggestion for Cyberpunk.

- Killing someones would be better than keeping them alive

It's really a lot easier/equal to take the non lethal path which I think shouldn't be the case.. Enemies you knock out, wake up and alert everyone through their radios or if you took the radio, They try to find some other way of contacting alerting everyone of your presence so it'd be better to just kill them. This was kinda what I wished for in Deus Ex, If you really want to go non lethal, you have to go and trap the unconscious guy somewhere like a closet or a bathroom then block the exit with something heavy like a vending machine. Non lethal would give a long-term advantage sometimes like one of the people who are supposed to kill you will have a Letho moment and spare your life because his wife works at the facility you infiltrated and you didn't kill her (you'd probably have to do some kind of tedious thing to get around not killing her) or the employees there will view you differently. If they hate their boss maybe they'll get out of your way or something but maybe they'd also be more daring if you're too good.

kinda feel like CDPR aren't really looking at these and just looking at off-topic threads. Maybe they're just afraid they'll make promises they can't keep but a reply would still be nice haha.

I don't think they've ever been in the habit of replying on threads like this, have they? They'll have their own vision of what they want to do, but if they see something in here, or any other speculative thread, that looks interesting and possible and fits in with that vision, then I guess they'll consider including it. So it's still worth coming up with wishlists :)

But I think you're right, it would be dangerous for them to say anything that could be interpreted as a promise, especially this early, so we'll probably need to be satisfied with silence or maybe the occasional cryptic comment.

I remember when I first joined the forums, seeing people complaining about "broken promises" on the basis of one casual "maybe" remark two years earlier that got their hopes up.

I would love to see this eastern egg: small graffiti of smurf saying "I always wanted to make game about smurfs".

I'm pretty sure Cyberpunk will have at least one Witcher easter egg and vice versa. Which is good! But I would rather see CDPR make fun of other games like Assassin Creed in TW2

^That would make a really good tattoo.

Back on-topic, I know everyone keeps comparing the new game to the Deus Ex series, which I think is a mistake - the only thing they'll probably have in common is that they're both cyberpunk settings and have guns in them.

But, having said that, there's one thing I would like to see from DX:HR that's nothing to do with the genre, just something I thought was really neat. The "boss dialogue" concept where you really have to think about what the other guy is saying, and where you can't just memorise the answers from one playthrough to the next.

Deus Ex was more sci fi and yeah I agree they should include that. It'd probably be more like fallout though where your stats determine if the right answer pops up. I just wish it won't be that easy maybe a mesh of the two?

Speaking of the "bosses" from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, one thing I hope CDPR stays clear from is how the boss fights were incredibly out of whack with the rest of the game. I know they (Eidos) outsourced the boss fights to another developer, thus the disconnect, but I didn't like how the boss fights forced you into a run-and-gun style, even if the rest of the game you were built for stealth and stealthy take outs. It was like playing two different kinds of games.

It's cool though if a game takes you out of your comfort zone which I think a lot of people had a hard time dealing with hence the complaints.

On an unrelated note.

I was looking at the class lists from the game guide thing and Corporate sounds like the least generic of all of them like the leader that gets everyone together so I think I'll play that if ever.

The problem was it only penalized those who chose a more stealth build. People who built their Jensen to be a run-and-gun commando had no real issue with the boss fights.

That's where bad game design came into play. It didn't make it more challenging for everyone, only a select few.

Apparently the developers even acknowledged the issue, since they apparently fixed this with the boss fight in the DLC (haven't played the DLC, so I don't know how true that is).

Anyway, sorry about the OT discussion. In regards to CDPR's new game, I'll simply say I hope they handle boss fights differently than what Eidos did in Deus Ex: HR.

It's true. They did a good job with the DLC boss fight.

In terms of what to expect on gameplay, I think we'll probably get more clues from The Witcher than from games by other developers that just happen to be set in a cyberpunk-like world. It'll be the RED engine, it'll be driven by a team brought over from TW2, so I'm not worried that this will suddenly turn CDPR into a developer of FPS games.

I just can't wait to see what the writers and artists come up with, their take on a dystopian society, the level design, the art design, the characters we'll meet, the variety in mission structure. I know they're up to the task.

To elaborate: It's not a traditional boss fight. It's (very slight spoiler):
a warehouse filled with mooks on high alert, with the main bad guy overlooking it from a control room above, giving you the obligatory "I'm awesome and you suck" speeches. It's quite possible to handle the area via stealth, but you do have to take down both the boss and the mooks, lethal or non-lethal.

Actually, you don't.
You only need to take down the boss. Everyone else disappears when you do.
