Hot keys still unresponsive for signs.

Hot keys still unresponsive for signs.

Overall, the combat is more responsive and I have yet to run into the dreaded bomb throwing bug. I can't tell you what a relief this is. But I've noticed unresponsiveness when I try to use the number keys when they are mapped to my signs. If I open the radial menu, select a sign, and then use my 'sign' key ( E ) it works fine, but if I try to simply use a hotkey for one of the five signs, it's still unresponsive.

I'm bringing this up because I really prefer not having to use the radial menu during combat. It makes me feel like I'm playing a console game and the hotkeys are a quicker way to execute commands. Has anyone else observed this and are the dev team experiencing this as well?

Lolol makes you feel like playing a console game. It always amuses me how people say stuff like this. But yes, I am having the exact problem myself. Its a every now and then occurence, but it can be rather annoying. And I don't think it matters what keys you assign it to (I have 3-quen, 4-axii, side mouse button- igni, scroll wheel click- aard, and I still have the problem.)

The reason I said that is I don't like being obligated to use the radial wheel, which is exactly the case with console games. With a PC, you have the full keyboard at your disposal.

I agree with the OP, the radial wheel is a console-ish feature, born out of a lack of buttons on console controllers. The radial wheel has become more commonplace as developers have focused on optimizing games for consoles. For example, compare Assassin's Creed 1, in which each individual weapon can be bound to a hotkey, to Assassin's Creed 2, in which you can only access most of the weapons through the radial menu. I don't mind radial menus, but I prefer hotkeys.

P.S.: I am also experiencing this issue, I hope it gets fixed!

Crysis 1 had a radial wheel... and they had no plans of making it a console game back when it came out...

Even in Witcher 1 you could select the Sign using a specific key. You had to use the RMB to activate it, though. Still much easier than having to use that dreaded radial menu in the heat of the battle.

yes I have the same issue. Sometimes I dont know what the hotkey butons were actually intended for, selecting the sign or casting it, since it seems to do both but not consistently for either of the functions. I wouldnt mind if it was just selecting and then executing with a button like in Witcher1 but as its now I try to get used to the radial menu, though I dont like it much either.

Radial wheels where present in many PC exclusive games, it's a feature for those that like to combine multiple spells/skills at the same time, but it's somehow modern repeating console this and console that.

As for the not responsive keys , well I rarely rolled prior to the latest patch , maybe a few times on normal, and during boss fights, now somehow I have issues with space responsiveness.Resetting the controls to default and remapping again, helped allot ,at least on queen so maybe trying that.

I got lots of performance and overall keys responsiveness from disabling the bluetooth devices on my system, so maybe another thing to look into.
Well, don't disable bluetooth devices if something is connected to them. Sometimes using default Windows drivers helps allot. But this is just grasping at straws, because now it's actually way better in my specific case. It looks like a combination of multiple things that needs a step by step troubleshooting, maybe figuring out what the people have in common on hardware and software levels.

Forget about the radial wheel. If the game has hotkey functionality, they should respond, right?
