Hotfix 5.00c out now for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on PC!

+

Hotfix 5.00c is now available for download for the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere (PC) versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. You'll find the patch notes below:
  • Fixed an issue where the game couldn't be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.
  • Fixed an issue where voiceover audio could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through the pause menu tabs.
  • Made various visual adjustments in Velen, including tweaks to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing lighting.
  • Reverted a change that caused significant performance and visual issues with HairWorks enabled for some users.
  • Fixed an issue where marketing telemetry settings weren't saved properly.
  • Fixed an issue on GOG where achievements wouldn't appear in the unlocked list after being earned.
  • Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to launch the Classic (1.32) version of the game.
Once again, thank you for your patience as we continue investigating the issues you report.

I'm experiencing three strange gameplay issues in The Witcher 3 after the recent updates.

  • Geralt dies from a single hit from basically any living enemy, even when the damage should normally be survivable.
  • After using a Sign, my stamina bar drops to 0 and never regenerates.
  • Once this happens, I can no longer sprint.
I have also tried the newly released 5.00c update, but unfortunately all three problems are still exactly the same.

Has anyone experienced these issues, especially the one-hit death bug? I'm trying to find a way to continue my current playthrough without starting over.

In no way does the remastered version see the saved files on the Nintendo Switch 2. I tried with cloud, signed into Project red account. When I install the normal version. No problem. When I want to play on the remastered no save file. Only new game option.

have you reassigned your skill points again yet?

The only issue I have is Remastered uses the same pathetic CPU threading as Next Gen did causing you to be CPU limited especially with Ray Tracing enabled. With RT off I get roughly the same performance as before and with RT on I get the same framerate dips in the same places as before. I analyzed one of the spots in White Orchard with Intel's PresentMon and sure enough the GPU Busy time jumps there which indicates a CPU bottleneck. Unfortunately my old saves won't work because of a mod I used so I can't check other spots that are even worse. I also can't get PresentMon to show up when I record, It's there but it just doesn't show up on the video so I'm going to have to use a 3rd party app (Currently I'm just hitting Alt - F9 to record) but once I do I'll be able to provide plenty of evidence that the game still doesn't thread correctly and is severely CPU bottlenecked in many parts of the game.

They apparently didn't rewrite any of the game engine CPU threading code because these 3rd party developers just don't have the chops like they guys that developed the Red Engine have which is proven by Cyberpunk which has excellent CPU threading and is only GPU limited as expected.

The remaster has removed all the original game's physics details. All open-world vegetation interactions are gone — you walk straight through grass with no reaction, and no footprints are left when walking on snow, and so on (hopefully this is just a bug). There is also a bug with the newly released outfit set: you get the West-Mirror White Tiger Set when claiming it.

Could ya'll confirm whether you're aware of the scarlet crew chest armor and the fire horse twitch gear isnt spawning in the Vizima chest and if its fixed or being fixed?? im on an exsting new game plus save which i think is the main reason I'm having the problem. i would like to add a thanks in here for all the great work and passion yall are putting into this game. I've never seen a more dedicated team toward perfecting a story's world and carrying it forward after so long! Keep it up guys!

Im running into a bug where I cant climb down or up ladders and I've tried everything even as far as a new whole playthrough that didnt help anyone got an actual fix for this?

So here's some bugs that I'm having.

- Dodging feels delayed

- Regarding combat, I am swinging more in the air than the previous version, like Geralt does not auto target the enemy unless I point left stick to them. I hate the target locking.

- I'm using Vader 5 pro controller which allows me to map keyboard press on the controller and when opening map or inventory it closes it immediately

before this update i had the issue that Geralt always auto running as soon i stopped to press the left stick on my PS5 Dual Sense Controller. (Steam Version)

Now after this 5.00c fix Geralt is less auto moving when i do nothing but when I turn the camera with the right stick the camera keeps turning.

I think something is broken in the remastered version regarding controller usage.

Hi, Since patch 5.00c, the autosave seems broken. Deleting an autosave file doesn't actually remove it from the list(that save have an icon next to the save file name its a cloud with arrow down sign) and trying to delete it again but haven’t press X to delete notice in the screen bottom . On top of that, selecting the broken file makes the whole screen laggy

Please turn delayed recovery back at least. It was my favorite build. I enjoy alot of the new animations and QOL stuff but Alchemy was my favorite tree and now its kinda depressing tbh. Plus I cant even go back to the original edition if I wanted to on PS5 so ive kinda just lost that build I had for almost 10 years :(

⚠️ Frame Generation not working in 21:9

Hi guys, I think there is still a problem with Frame Generation when playing in 21:9.

I'm using an ultrawide resolution and noticed that turning Frame Generation ON or OFF makes basically no difference to the FPS. It looks like FG is simply not working.

I decided to test the game in 16:9 and Frame Generation started working immediately. The FPS increase was obvious.

🔴 21:9 with FG ON: no real FPS increase
🟢 16:9 with FG ON: works normally

Same PC, same game and basically the same settings. I only changed the resolution/aspect ratio.

Can you guys please check this? :D (y)

If anyone here is playing in 21:9, please try turning FG ON and OFF and see if your FPS actually changes. Would be good to know if other ultrawide players are having the same issue.

I've been running into a bug on PC where in photo mode, I change the environment lighting and the depth of field switches off and won't go back on unless I set the lighting back to default.

Will you guys restore the vegetation physics from the original version for the Remaster? On the first older version of the game, the vegetation and flora reacted before, when Geralt walked through them and they also moved due to the weather conditions.
It will add more immersion for the remaster. Thanks in advance.
