how do i turn my mod from the old school kinda of quickBMS mod to the new format?

hi guys.

im the creator of the T&M mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/258/?) and since i know very little about modding, and nothing about scripting, i was wondering if there is a simple way to create my mod with the new modkit.

i just edited a few simple lines in the opp_base_abl.xml file and the monster_base_abl.new.xml file and imported them back into the bundle files.
is there a way to import these changes into the game using the modkit?
is there a tutorial?

Yup. Use FAQ and tutorial, but all you have to do is:

1.uncook game
2.create a bundle file
3.create a metadata file

All of this is in FAQ and Tutorial

I cant figure out how to get XML back into a bundle...

Maybe thats not how it works for xml?

I can get textures replaced fine, scripts are stupid easy, but I cant get xml to work at all.

As far as I can see none of the tutorials or the docs included say anything about it.

Am I just missing something really obvious?

Crow uses xmls in his saddles mod. (According to description). Seems that it wasn't super obvious at first but he succeeded after "some trial and error".

As someone else who is new to mods the tutorial is not very clear, and never does it directly reference .xlm files. What folder structure and all that do you use when cooking it? And when making a bundle do I just call it mod.bundle or what?

Thanks to the post by J-Slash I got it working. Step by step, how I did it:

1. make a dir called "X:\XMLmod"
2. make a dir called "X:\cookedXML"
3. copy file(s) from depot to X:\XMLmod, maintaining dir structure
4. edit as you like
5. run this:

wcc_lite pack -dir="X:\XMLmod" -outdir="X:\cookedXML"

6. Run this:

wcc_lite metadatastore -path="X:\cookedXML"

X:\cookedXML should now have blob0.bundle and metadata.store in it.

Copy those to W3\Mods\modName\content\ and off you go.

:smiling2:
