How do i upgrade the Multilayered syn-leather deltajock jacket more than once?

Its tooltip says it upgrade to Epic then Legendary after 12 upgrades.
I upgraded it once and it disappeared from the list!

I have 20 Crafting and Technical ability as well as speced into crafting, but nothing. Im also level 50.
Seems a bit dumb to have that in the tooltip if the limit on upgrading is once.
All my Legendary items also only upgrade once but most greens and blues can go multiple times.

You can't
Items that you craft (or loot, or buy) are "set" at your level, so it require that you level up 12 times.
If it desappear from the list, it's because it's now a level 50 item (the max) and you're unable to upgrade it more.

Still an issue after patch 1.6. Had both the "Multilayered Syn-leather Deltajock Jacket" as well as the "Luminescent Punk Jacket" in my stash.
When I noticed their description I was elated that I will be able to upgrade and use them.
Disappeared from the menu after the first upgrade...
