I'm not saying CDPR cannot make the changes they want (they brought Geralt from the nowhere) but if you take a look about artworks of readers there differents visions of Triss but Yenn is almost always the same. Differents readers that don't know them each other have drawn the same woman easy to recognize when they imagine Yennefer because Sapkowski make an incredible work portraiting her in the novels.

And even then there's nothing wrong with re-imagining her how they see fit. Just because the portrayal doesn't conform to the prose in every aspect doesn't really mean much. CDPR have a vision for the world and setting, I think it would be better for us to let them pursue it.

Yeah i do... darn it... i'm sorry, won't happen again.

As i said, i haven't read the books, so reading the forums i'm learning about the Witcher universe.
We're all here because we love the games and/or the books. And we all just want to see it be the best it can be. And i guess that's why discussions get heated at times. And while i stand by the feelings in this thread, i can say that maybe i've 'softened' a little.

I did know there was an interview with Triss, though i haven't watched it.

The interview(in written form) was in the Polish playboy issue with Triss' photos, so unless you know Polish..... ;)

Yes, of course, I'd never mind if CDPR took Geralt and draw his eyes like dark fish ones or with redhair, or his medallion weren't a wolf but a REDbirdie.... Do you think I cannot understand what is an (free) interpretation of a wroten image (text)? I still repeat: IF CDPR had not said they would remain closer to the books in this third delivery I'll absolutly be OK with all creative variation. But this is not the case. Just because they said that I'd be a little disappointed if they move away from the books. What of this statament is hard to understand? I'm not claiming anything, I'm expressing my hopes.

Edit:
I hope my limited grammatical constructions does not make you think that my understanding of life is equal to or less than my english

Let's say this straight: if Triss hadn't had fire-red hair this problem would never existed.

Rather sad if all you can take away from the books is how the characters look, that's pretty much what Hollywood does with book adaptations. I think what CDPR meant here was that they were trying to capture the tone, atmosphere and the moral ambiguity that forms the core of the books.

If the tone, the atmosphere and moral ambiguity, what literally means, the world itself whre it´s based, isn´t faithful at least in that, then that would be the greatest failure, in that aspect, to this day CDPR, deliver great quality.

But this isn´t an spin-off, where you just take the "world" an create YOUR CHARACTERS and STORIES on it, it´s a sequel, of Geralt of Rivia, not his redhair cousin, it has to be him, and Ciri, and Yennefer, not other people with their names, this is a sequel, even if in a fanfiction way, from fans, for fans, those are not my words, the characters aren´t debatable, with your creation you do what you want, but Geralt is Geralt, period, and even only how they look is sooooooo related to how they are and who they are, that anyone who can´t understand that, makes me think, if they truly know about the characters.

Everybody wants extra detail on every tiny aspect of the design, and precisely the characters, don´t care... ???

@EcoSeis Geralt, Yennefer and Triss aren't their looks, fortunately The Witcher Saga was written by an author who went beyond the superficial and gave the characters depth. I think it would be rather plebeian to argue over something as unimportant as the character's with relation to how they have been described in the text. Need I tell you that books and video games are two different mediums and it may perhaps not be the best of ideas to have a direct duplication from the former to the latter? To have the devs mindlessly copy whatever descriptions the book has would be a vast of talent and would amount to stifling the studio's artistic vision for the game.

You will have to excuse me, but in your words are so many contradictions, that I´m a little confused, precisely because of the depth of the characters and how exceptionally they are depicted by Maese Sapkowski, even on the tiniest detail of HOW THEY LOOK, intimately related to their lifes, personalities, charisma, that precisely the represantation of that on a picture, has to give us, the same or similar impression, the author wanted to give us.

The design work on CDPR, it´s in another level on the gaming industry (to be fair not only design) and they have to use that precisely to give live to Geralt and company, as that was their intention, bring to life that world, AND CHARACTERS, IT WAS THEIR CHOICE TO DO A FANFICTION SEQUEL, WITH THOSE CHARACTERS, not any new I.P. like Cyberpunk 2077, where they are free to blow up our minds, in their own way, or like I said an spin-off, with new characters, they choose an already perfectly well made world and characters, saying some things of them are important and others not, has none to very little sense.

Seriously, do you think their design, said so little about those characters? and even then, just for respect on the character, I´m sorry, but I think anyone want to see their childhood/teenager years hero, disrespected, like I don´t know, for axample, and Eminem tattooed mafia style guy as Peter Parker, or Bruce Wayne, come on people...

Note: I hire a painter to make my portrait, I use my converse, black pants and one colour hood sweeter, and he make a guy in a suit, that seriously don´t say things about me?
Or more serious things, like my scar on my forehead, playing with my cousin as kids, and my red spot on my right eye etc...

Edit: Or having white hair because of a mutation, which even was a little of a trauma when he was a kid, and change reactions on other people, scars etc...

HA HA HA, Yes, you´re right, I have to say that I got a little to passionate about designs and portraits, I apologize, also to @Scheuk of course. :)

Don´t worry, I´m gonna throw all my potions, to not get to Berserker mode anymore. :coffee:

The new armor looks so out of place, something you'd only wear in a castle or the city, but never for adventuring, mind even sailing.

Honestly, I think it needs more skin. Sorceresses are known for their sex appeal and well, Triss seems to be steering away from it somewhat.

Triss is the outlet in the sorceress fashion elite. There's a good reason for this: she is allergic to magic on his body so she must to do her work with a different style.
