How does Flood of Anger Work?

How does the combat talent Flood of Anger work?

I try to cast a sign with 3 Adrenaline points full and nothing happens

Do I need to pick the Rage Management passive talent?

What I have gathered.

It works for both Alternate signs (hold the button), and all upgrades but only(!) if you have not skilled a certain sign and equipped it.

So in my case:
I have Delusion skilled on Axii, so Flood of Anger does not give me the alternate mode or the maxed out "control" if I use it.
If I do use Yrden I can use the alternate mode as well as the basic one maxed out.

Now I did not try just not equipping my Delusion, if that allows me to use a maxed out Axii via Flood of Anger.

Didn't you read what I said...
I described how it works, only that it is blocked by skilled sigils if equipped.
