How long can facial hair get?

I'm new to this game and noticed that facial hair grows back. How long can it grow? How fast does it grow?

I was just asking based on vanilla, I was going to go get the dlc today after work. But now that you mention it, is there dlc that makes a change to the facial hair system?

It adds new beards, but none is longer than the fully grown out default beard

1. Clean Shave
2. Short mustace
3. Short beard
4. Medium beard
5. Maximum Beard (as you can see above picture)
