How long did it take you to complete The Witcher? And what char level?

I'm in Act 5 (about to go for the Striga, haven't killed the monsters yet), and I'm level 33. And as a side-question, I know I've missed maybe one or two levels because in the beginning I didn't do some contracts, but is it even possible to get to level 50?

Yeah, grinding here is almost impossible with those loads...I've seen the max level is 50 according to the Wiki, btw.

You can grind on some Graveirs/Cemetaurs ouside of Kalkstein's in act V, they respawn each time you zone. I grinded 2 levels (really easy with maxed igni) on those and managed to finish level 40.

I did 38, too, without a lot of grinding (did some for half a level in Act 2).

Finished the game a few minutes ago with level 38 (medium difficulty).I simply did all the quests that offered itself to me.I didn't kill Vincent, Adda, Ramsmeat, I didn't kill the speaking ghoul, I didn't betray Vincen'ts informat, I didn't do the quest with the vampire brothel & the blue eyed girl...I found out about Azar Javed's fetish and having gotten rid of poor Raymond - so I gave him a fistful of surprise at the Swamp Tower. and and and...But i did all trophies, all fistfights, all dice poker and all contracts. Also killed loads of royal wyverns because the meat brought good money.Must say, this was by far the most complex and best roleplay fantasy computer game I had in a very long time. Especially the finding out about Azar having replaced Raymond with an Illusion... only a few games have such a complex quest series with so many different consequences...

Blimey that must have been one long dull grind-fest!I figure that level 38 is the natural finishing level...maybe 39/40 with absolutely every quest9 more than this!...with the XP required increasing each time!!...good work!!!BTW where did you find was the optimum place to grind-out all those experience points?

BTW where did you find was the optimum place to grind-out all those experience points?[/QUOTE]I think that the best place are in the chapter 3 the warriors kikimore at the Swamps and in the chapter 4 the basilisks at the black tern island

I usually finish around level 38.But .. I have a save in Raven's crypt, and I might try getting to 50 to see what it's like.

- I am in chapter III and no longer see "good" monster to kill - only the drowners :dead: - There's a respawn time in swamp? I go from swamp / temple / trade, spend 2 days away from swamp and no more royal wyverns, cemetaurs, nicht, nothing, nada... Well, how can I "conjure" more stuff to kill? hang around with lots of meat? :pThanks!

First game I finished at 41 with grinding. Now at level 16 starting act 3 with no grinding.I think I will probably farm xp.Then again it might be interesting to see if I can do all side quest and no grinding to see what level I come out to.I am not doing dice or fighting.
