How long do you think it will take you to beat the Witcher 3?

The Witcher 3 is perhaps the most anticipated game of all time for me up to this point. I'm gobbling up every bit of news and media I can on the game, counting the days until the game finally releases in May.....and believe me, I plan to take a few days off for this game :D

But as excited as I am for the Witcher 3, I am also dreading it a bit as well. Being a parent, I honestly don't have much time for games these days. I'm severely backlogged in fact since last year with several games that I have yet to complete; Dragon Age Inquisition, Watch Dogs and AC Unity. I also now have Far Cry 4 as well courtesy of Ubisoft, who gave me that game for free due to them cancelling the season pass..

It's highly unlikely that I will complete all four of these games by May, as they are all big games. And when the Witcher 3 comes out, I will drop them like a sack of potatoes and devote all of my gaming time to it.....until Batman Arkham Knight comes out then it will be more 50/50 :D

Knowing me, it will take me a minimum of 6 months to beat the game, and possibly up to a year as I'm a completionist and I game slow, due to real life responsibilities. So I'm curious, knowing your gaming habits, how long do you think it will take for you to beat the Witcher 3?

Supposedly, the game is about 100 hours in length if you plan on doing everything. And I'm sure there will be some kind of Enhanced Edition, expansion or DLC (for free of course) that will add even more content, going by CDPR's past..

Too many games, and not enough time :(

I'd say a week. No relationships, no friendships, no kids to distract me, so I can dedicate alot of time to this game.

Might be a few days more or less, depending on if I want to start with Hard mode or Normal mode. All other games can wait.

I'm waiting this game since ages...but you know what? I'll take the time it will need...i don't want any distraction, from family/friends/work/sport...and if this means I have to wait even a month before play it (summer time!)...well I'll wait again patiently so that nothing will ruins my game experience..so it will probably take me at least one month and half (playing it for 3 hours a day minimum) coz I want to see and discover any little cm of the map...well this for the first run so not considering the next ones to sew how my choice will affect the story...God now that I'm thinking..it will be the end of my social life! :D

I think it comes down to how you wish to play the game, I'm eager to play but not to finish it. I intend to do a LOT of side quests, explore as many places as I can, explore the game and every bit of everything, so.. it should take a really long time, and besides that sometimes I like to walk to places, and I have no intention of using fast travel no matter the distance hahaha

In truth, it's best not to worry about it.
AC Unity sat on my shelf for nearly three months while I played DAI.
2015 has few enough big releases so there's no real hurry.
More problematic is that I find 'dropping' a game to play something else makes it much harder to pick up again later,
so as much as possible I try to complete the main story of each game, before moving on, even if I don't cover every quest or open every chest.
I have half a mind to replay TW2 before May as I am on Console(s).

I wonder if it will be longer than Witcher 1 or not. Since it's an open world you can probably make it as long as you want.

I think they have been saying it's around the 200 mark if you're a 'completionist', sorry to tell you. ^ ^

I'm hoping to have around 200 hours of playing, cause if world will be a much bigger then Skyrim, and I played Skyrim almost 150 hours, then I'm expecting little more time for Witcher 3.. Of course this means to play as many side quests there is, and try to explore every place in the game.. Just hoping that they populated it that world, and loaded with many quests..
But because of my regular job, aside job, wife&kids, I will not have many free time to play it, but that's the way (a-ha-a-ha) I like it (as song will say), cause every day , for a long time, I will have internal peace when I'm playing W3.. ;)

As long as it takes, the more the better, I plan to enjoy the world, travel and explore and have fun. I'll probably try to complete a lot of side quests as well.
This is a game that I don't want to beat, it is something that I want to experience. Easily my most anticipated game ever. :)

I would like to be done before Arkham Knight is out two weeks later. It took me 2 weeks to finish Dragon Age Inquisition, so I think this should be possible.

Baldur´s Gate 2 took me 6 months back then, since I could only play at weekends. Witcher 3 I expect to finish in 2-3 months, when my wife and daughter let me. ;)

Yeah mee 2 no doubt :p

I will be doing lots of playing ... 2 playthroughs alone to connect my previous witcher movies on youtube with the new ones.... then maybe 1 or 2 more just to explore every bit of the world and experience different playstyles.... in between a few fantrailer... I think it will keep me busy through 2015
