Sorry folks, even though I have played the game, I have only got about 10 hours if hands on time in and was mostly in the prologue and initial area. I never reached any of the major cities. In the small villages I visited all the doors were able to be opened (if they were not locked for story reasons), but there were only 10-20 per village. I can't comment on how many doors there are in cities or how many can be opened as I haven't got that far yet.

Not sure I think I'll get most of it done in a week (I booked it off work), but realistically I'm looking at 3 weeks depending on my shifts after my annual leave.

It really depends if I can take a week off work or not. :D

Does this question include multiple play throughs? I wish I had a clearer answer but I know at some point I am going to want to know what happens in the game, so I am going to skip side stuff to finish. Then I'll playthrough again probably at a different difficulty and try to do other side quests. At some point I'll start looking at wikis so my third playthrough might be more completionist. I'm playing on ps4 and would want to get a platinum. Maybe by this holiday I'll have money to upgrade my computer and start playing again in a more beautiful world and start messing with mods. I think the sort of living world cdpr is making will lead to at least some emergent gameplay, which is always refreshing and fun.

I might get tired of it at some point but come back later to play again with different options. So probably a couple of years all told. You don't want to even know how many times I've played thru mass effect.

I will probably take 18 months to beat Witcher 3. I use braided rope soaked in hot tar with glass shards, and will make him eat urinal cakes soaked in fermented pig poop. :) .......

Did I go too far? Haha, ok. Just the urinal cakes then.

I am a completionist myself, but I am not sure how well that works in this game, since you can miss stuff quite easily, and might need a guide to plan out the optimum route. I don't really want to read a guide, so I'll just deal with it if I miss stuff. I will definitely go for 100% map exploration and all the activities that come with it, so I think I am looking at 200+ hours.

The last big game I put some hours in was for Xenoblade on the Wii, which was 140 hours. And that was mainly following the critical story path with some light side questing. Since I feel like I will enjoy the battle system of Witcher 3 a lot more than the MMO combat of Xenoblade, I can see myself putting in 200+ hours. I do have 600+ hours in Mario Kart 8, but I doubt that counts :p

I'm a completionist, not quite 100% type but close. I also play on the hardest difficulty though I don't really expect that to add towards time too much given that enemy HP is the same on all difficulties. Thanks for that CDPR, fuck the HP soaks.

I figure about 100 hours give or take, maybe faster given that I've played The Witcher 2 a lot and know every singular aspect of the combat system and Witcher 3 is similar. Also this does imply I don't die and lose all my saves on Dark Mode.

In terms of weeks? About 1-2 weeks.

So does the game kick ass? Do you like? Are the graphics amazing? Don't lie, what did you really think? I'm all ears :)

Well if the story mode setting is hard as dark souls, I might not ever beat this game :(
If it's story mode is more like Easy was on TW2 on XB360, I'll manage. I guess it could be somewhere between Normal and Easy, I'm doing pretty good so far with ME SoM :) I think the hardest fight inTW2 on Easy on XB360 was the Gurdian of that cool sword err.. merr.. gerd. Okay it wasn't that hard lol..

10 hours and that's mostly the prologue?

I'm starting to wonder if I should have picked one month.
