Ya Rly. I did say following it closely.

Anyway on topic, I have no idea how much it's going to sell I'm not a market predictions specialist.

Probably around 1.5 - 2 million copies worldwide within the first week, it has much more exposure than previous titles and is often compared to Skyrim and GoT so it will draw attention of some of their audiences. It definitely won't sell some insane ammounts of copies like Skyrim did though, it's still not on the same level of recognition as Elder Scrolls series.

Edit: After the information about 1 million pre-orders I think I might've been wrong, and I'm happy for it :D

The downgrade won't really affect initial sales, but once the game is out you'll see the forum meltdown a very large amount of new customers come to bitch at CDPR. Of course by that point it will be too late to fix anything.

I very much doubt that, long term sales will be dictated by whether or not its a good game, because that is ultimately what matters. If it scores 9s, 8s, and even 10s and goes on to win some GOTY awards then it'll have a very long tail, especially since the current market is starved for good AAA games.

Some people may be soured by that particular discussion but I'd say that is a very tiny pool.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt exceeds 1 million pre-orders worldwide! One week before release!

And this is before any reviews of the game has been released.
Still 9 days left before we reach "2 days after release", so this is fun as a geek that wishes to see this game do well!

"Dragon Age: Inquisition Sells 1.14M Units Worldwide First Week - PS4, Xbox One, X360, PS3, PC"

It will be fun to see how it goes with the reviews and all, not that it will matter to me but still.

So... Dragon Age: Inquisition (which came on 5 platforms, not 3!) was basically matched in first week sales before the game was even released?
That is absolutely insane. And incredibly awesome.

Not awesome. DA2 left a lot of fans disappointed, mostly those who played DA:O. A several amount of them don't were very attracted about DA3

On the contrary, TW; The Kingslayer left a sweet taste in fans and newcomers. Three years ago, the hype is as the Sun's center heat.....

True open world single-player fantasty role-playing game with high quality is a rare thing.
I just know of one game and that is The Elder Scrolls and that's that, at least the only one I think is good.

Therefore, I think it's easy for The Witcher 3 to capture the attention of new players (like me), that is not familiar with The Witcher. And that's why I think this game will sell a lot more copies, because it's an open world fantasty role-playing game, the freedom to go anywhere you want. There is not enough games like that around in a fantasty setting.

Well, I just realized that VGChartz is not the most reliable source. Those 1.14 milion is probably severely underestimated.

Still, Mass Effect 3 sold ~0.9 milion copies on the first day (and according to EA, DA:I sold more, but they didn't give a particular figure), so we can safely say, that The Witcher 3 sells better than Mass Effect 3 already, and perhaps better than Inquisition (although that is not certain).

Skyrim sold 3.4 million in two days for a comparison.

I can see easily 2 million pre-orders if the reviews are enthusiastic. There are 8 more days.

The Brazilian NC Games, which is selling for all retailers here in Brazil, is already sold out of it's collectors edition (all plataforms) and PS4 copies.

As many as copies are out. I know it´s a huge amount but they really deserve it. I hope they could overtake even the GTA V record!!! Dreaming is free of charge :)

I've already called this in another thread a few months ago, but I absolutely see this game outselling Skyrim over the life of the title.
