How much of the north has been conquered.

@ReptilePZ

Funny that you have left Mahakam completely untouched. But then again, dwarves are mainly what held the Black Ones at bay in previous battles and Emhyr knows this. :santa:(only smiley with a beard I found...oh wait a minute)

:comeatmebro:tadaaa!

Well, considering the fact that this is the map of the invasion we get at the end of TW2, it is CDPR that left Mahakam completely untouched, not me. But yea, a mountain region full of dwarves isn't the best target.

Quite a bit. They reached Vizima if I remember correctly. Also, how come everyone can see and use the new emoticons but me? I don't see them anywhere. :(

dwarves are usefull to Nilfgaard too, they sell them minerals, in one chapter Zoltan or Yarpen talks about it. The problem is with "the free dwarves" in both sides

Yeah I've completed Witcher 2 thrice but didn't remember that particular border, and clear restraint of it regarding Mahakam, being drawn.

They'll probably wait with conquering them until last. No way Emhyr is letting them go. He can't let anything go can he?

Well, they're dwarves. I doubt the majority of them really care which human kingdom is around them. From that map you can clearly see Emhyr is not messing with non-humans (Brokilon (dryads), Mahakam (dwarves/gnomes) and Dol Blathanna (elves - I didn't mark it but it's the blue area to the south east of Aedirn)).

Exactly. There is no reason for Nilfgaard to antagonize non-humans. Non-humans already want to be free from the Northern yoke (Foltest screwed Mahakam, for example), and will be ready to cooperate or at least remain neutral if they are promised to become autonomous states under Nilfgaard protection. Why would any ruler want to aggravate the dwarves, for example? They work in the mines, they make steel, they make the best weapons and equipment on the continent. Just let them live their lives and do what they do best - work. The empire will only benefit from it.

As Emhyr's plans go, I would say all lands between Yaruga and Pontar, which includes the entire Temeria and Aedirn, and all smaller states south and to the west of them. The trailer probably does not show full extent of Emhyr's plans because the invasion stalled. Not for long if I can help it in TW3.

@Bellator Pius Gratus Non-humans in general aren't too fond of humans so attacking them wouldn't help their campaign against the Northern Kingdoms. Brokilon has been a "warzone" for a very long time, no point in wasting resources and time there when you've started a fast surprise war that's meant to take advantage of the chaos caused by the kingslayers. Mahakam is also difficult territory for war. Mountain settlements are hard to conquer, especially when Nilfgaard's biggest advantage, apart from numbers, is their cavalry. As for Dol Blathanna, it is already essentially Nilfgaardian territory (recall the books and the deal between Nilfgaard and Francesca Findabair, who is the "ruler" of the Valley of the Flowers).

Basically, most non-humans aren't going to be actively aggressive towards Nilfgaard. Sure, some might join forces with the North (in fact, the Mahakaman division was instrumental in winning the battle of Brenna) but it's going to be even worse if you start invading their home territory. IIRC Nilfgaard did the same thing during the last war with the North.

No one wants to mess with Mahakam because in case of an attack on Mahakam mountains, dwarves will flood the mines and all kingdoms would suffer the consequences... :listen: say bye to your high quality steel humans

Makes sense, and yeah that sounds as something from the books if nothing else. But really, would Emhyr care?

EDIT: Read and thanked you all for your various explanations.

Considering the advanced gnomish smithy in Mount Carbon (located in Mahakam), Emhyr would most likely care.
