I thought Kaer Morhen fell over a hundred years ago and Geralt was out wandering when it happened which means he was full witcher. Also isn't Vesimer older than Kaer Morhen

Some people state that Sapkowski and CD RED have their own Geralt and by that logic he is younger, though CD RED also confirmed that Geralt is over 100 years old so that theory doesn't hold anymore. With that said, he's most likely similar to what Flash said and is 106 years old. From Sebastian Stepien "100 is the new 30. Geralt is very, very old by human standards. In the year during which The Witcher 2 takes place, Geralt is more than 100 years old."(Varning spoilers)http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gamehunters/post/2011/05/five-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-witcher-2/1

Geralt is at least 100 years old, with values ranging even to 120.Vesemir is declared an old hag by everyone, yet the healthiness he possesses is better than that of many young people in TW series, and apparently he may even be older than Kaer Morhen.Geralt is 100+ years old, yet he resembles a human in their 30's.Vesemir is way over 250 years old, and the guy looks to be 50 or so.

Yeah...somebosy said 70-80...THINK man, Kaer Morhen was razed by an angry mob over a century ago and no new witchers were made since then ( in the books ) Geralt was an active witcher already when it happened ( the young ones were all killed ) so he had to be at least 15-20That's 120The books start a century after the attack. During that time Ciri is born and rises to adulthood That's another +20 = 140 Geralt is a really, REALLY old fart :D

In books there is info that Vesimir is only one who remember old Kaer Morhen. Also they stopped train new witchers just 25 years ago. But anyway in Blood of Elves Coen, Eskel, Geralt and Lambert are described as "young" witchers and Vesimir is described as maybe older than Kaer Morhen but still full of vigor and healthier than most of young men. So Geralt will live much much more.

I think Geralt is no older than 60 - 70 years. I suppose that from an interview given by Sapkowski.Google Translator

Well, the devs tend to disagree with this since they stated they think Geralt is over 100 years old (which means in-game Geralt is over 100 years old).

Google Translator:I know. Most fans consider that Geralt is so old. They are based on one premise from the beginning of the saga. Triss reflects on past events in Kaer Morhen. But for me, more than 100 years old Geralt is illogical.I have arguments and opinions, but not easy to write it using Google Translator. I will try.- Geralt has traveled the world for a hundred years. After the hundredth birthday Geralt met all of his best friends and the love of his life.- 120 year old guy who behaves like a fairly young guy and has sex with 20 year old girls: /- In an interview Sapkowski mentions that Geralt has over 50 years. Sapkowski also says that Geralt hides his age, because nobody would give the job grandpa, who has more than 50 years. Sapkowski says that 60 year old Witcher does not look for more than 45 years. Sapkowski neither time did not go in these explanations higher than 60 years.I prefer to see Geralt as much younger than the other fans see it.In my opinion, Sapkowski not really think Geralt age when he wrote Saga. He committed a few inaccuracies, which do not really got out.

I never really thought about how old Geralt is but sill looks like he's in he's late 30's or early 40's.I guess being a mutant would slow he's ageing and rapid healing he's a bit like Wolverine from X-men hehe.

Let's take Sapkowski's interview at face value and allow that Geralt could be 60. Add 5 years that he was dead, so he might be 65. There is nothing wrong with him being about 65, and there is no reason he has to be much younger. There is nothing incongruous about Geralt being a Dead Sexy Badass Grandpa. The movies' "Geralt with guns", Clint Eastwood, was 65 when he married 27-year-old reporter Dina Ruiz. Anybody have a problem with that? Didn't think so."Life is like... golf. Sometimes you play better on the back nine." (Clint)

He is obviously over 9000 years old :pJokes aside: Well according to Tomasz Gop he is over 100 so this is the game canon.

Hmm. Well, I'm not familiar with Geralt of Rivia in any other medium, so whatever other stories there are I can't make opinion on. What I can say is this: In the Witcher, it is made manifestly clear that Geralt of Rivia died of a pitchfork in the gut, in Rivia. Five years later he shows up again (at the beginning of the game). My contention is this: Since he has died, is his actual, *original* date of birth even marginally relevant anymore? He is no longer human, or even mutant. He came back from the dead after five years - so now he's a supernatural being - for practical purposes, undead, or at the very least, *reborn*. In the Witcher, he's in his first year of life. He's less than a year old. Ergo, in the Witcher II, which as I understand it falls chronologically hard on the heels of the first game, he's not much older.

He's clearly not undead ! And I also think he wasn't reborn. If he was, he would've been resurrected by a god since he is not a reanimated corpse...People thought he was dead and he has no memory before the events of the witcher saga, therefore it was a (perhaps common) memory loss. We're talking about his chronological age! I can only estimate his age that's 50 < x < 150 (x being age)

It is not clear if he died at the end of book saga. I mean, sure he was stabbed and it seemed like he died. Then he left this world with Ciri and Yen. Then there is another scene when he and Yen seem alive, he has the wound bandaged and they are wondering where they are. Now this scene could be afterlive/eden/another dimension - they could be alive or dead, it is not explicitely stated.
BUT, in the developer interviews on EE bonus dvd, lead designer of TW clearly states that Sapkowski told them that Geralt was alive and they could bring him back. Now, of course anyone is free to consider him lying dirtbag, but I doubt he would lie publicly like that, to all fans/customers/readers. So it does seem that NOW Sapkowski considers Geralt alive at the end of saga, even if AT THE TIME OF WRITING he considered him dead (we will never know probably). As for his age, no idea. My guess would be between 50-60.

You weren't rude at all :) I din't find a suitable thread to say this, so I will say it here :)I haven't read the last book, so I plan to read it while playing The Witcher 2. When I played TW1 for the third time (I think) I was reading the first book and the way I looked at the ame was changed completely. I hope this time my experience will be improved as well :)Right now I am reading "The Fall of Hyperion" by Dan Simmons, playing Planescape Torment (for the first time) and studying for school (after taking part in a very time-consuming international project) and I just don't know if I will be able to finish all of this (considering how tired I am) AND my The Witcher 1 full playthrough before the 17th of may. Life's hard :)

Hey guys,
I've read all the books in original language and what i can say is that we dont know exact age of Geralt. Yes he propably is older than 100 years since, kear morhen was destroyed 50 years before Triss Merigold was born and that was a while ago! Also from all witchers that ever lived none of them died because of natural causes.

from the book: nenneke told to geralt that she remember times when he was a little brat, and if we assume she is "normal" human Geralt can't be over 100. Probably he is 50-60 ( i mean in game-time)

When and where did Tomasz Gop say this? I don't remember his saying that.

FLASH posted that Geralt was over 100 BEFORE he was hired by CDPR. After he was hired by them, his user account was REDified, and all of his old posts now look as if they were made by a representative of CDPR. But they weren't; he was just one of us back then.

(He could be right -- I haven't read all of Sapkowski's interviews, so I don't know -- but whether he's right or wrong, it's not an official statement from CDPR; it's just Flash's personal opinion.)
