Good to see you over here Sue,Just got it myself, trying to get past the riposte portion of the tutorial ... I'm obviously missing something but I'll be damned if I can figure out what.
Yes, it's definitely incompatible with Combat Rebalance. And, based on what you've said in the past Over There, I'd STRONGLY suggest you play the vanilla version, without using FCR.Apparently if you have install the "Combat Rebalance" mod it screws us the riposte portion of the tutorial because the tutorial expects you to use the parry key which then may give you a riposte option ... but the Rabalance mod removed the need to use the parry key.
So apparently the tutorial is incompatible with "Combat Rebalance".
Yes.Oh?
I thought FCR was suppose to improve combat ... I take it that means making in MORE "twitch" based?
Ahhhh well ... glad I learned that now ... time to reinstall.
Always. And SOME of us had to learn the game before they added the tutorial section.Hey the best way to learn is to run face-first into things.
Isn't it?
Yes! Yes it is. I have the facial scars to prove...something.Hey the best way to learn is to run face-first into things.

You should have asked. I have like a zillion savegames. All of which would load for you with a naked but excessively overweight Geralt. And then downloaded a save from the Nexus near where I was, more than half way into the game.
*drools*You should have asked. I have like a zillion savegames. All of which would load for you with a naked but excessively overweight Geralt.
..that's just....you're just...you know, sometimes I do not like you.You should have asked. I have like a zillion savegames. All of which would load for you with a naked but excessively overweight Geralt.
Obviously spoken by a man with no imagination...that's just....you're just...you know, sometimes I do not like you.
Awwww. You called me a "man". That's so nice! That might be the (only) nicest thing you've ever said to me.Obviously spoken by a man with no imagination.
You'll be pleased to hear that it's the only scripted boss-fight. And I don't think there'll be any like that in TW3. Glad you're enjoying everything else.About done with Chapter One.
Very impressed by the story-line and quests (including side quests) so far. After all you are a witcher so a certain amount of "Go kill X and get paid." is only to be expected. But so far at least it hasn't been overdone.
Can't say as I was terribly thrilled with needing to speed click my mouse to crank up the ballista in the prolog tho. What possible connection is there between Geralts' ability to operate a ballista and the players ability to speed click?
To be honest I was disappointed by the Kayran fight. It was pretty much what I'd expect in a console game, perform a predefined series of "twitch" actions, i.e. hit the right key/button at the right moment or pretty much auto-fail the battle. There's one, and only one, way to win, zero allowance for player/character skills/tactics.
But the other parts of the game are doing a nice job of making up for the disappointing Boss battles.
