You do know that all the colour in the universe will mean nothing if the story is not up to scratch.I am happy with TW1 colours if the story is good and enthralling.

Bottom line its the story.Better props and locations can take a good story and it awesome. I am looking forward to playing in the new forest. I''m looking forward to the updated Geralt as well.

The colors will be quite pretty, and we're doing our best to make the story much, much better than we did in first part of the game.

Why so negative? This is not about the story, it's about the forest. Maybe start complaining when you see the story go bad, not before. As for the forest: Looks great! Looking forward to go for a walk there and beat up some monsters. Keep up the good work and give this sequel a good story AND some awesome looks!

good locations always tell a story. about the inhabitants and their history, about who came and went and who stayed. forest can have different layers of flora/fauna showing visually that there were very different epochs in its history, e.g. like the ice age can be seen everywhere if you look closely enough - at least in the wild - they also tell a story about the wildlife, have light and dark places and even places where you can see how somebody struggled to conquer the forest but utterly failed.... there could be old structures, overgrown - just like the elven ruin from the gameplay video - there could be old settlements - repurposed by monsters or animals. then there would be the choice of "wood". what makes the forest - is it an old, thick forest where almost no light comes through ? or is it a more open forest with tall trees that touch the blue sky ? the possibilities....but not every forest must be hostile, there could be "neutral" or "friendly" animals, plants or monsters as well. Not everything should be out to kill you. Survival is a strong feeling, not every animal should attack you if it thinks that it cannot win......raging mutant ninja bunnies are an exception

I find so much joy from forests even if they're just fictional. It's refreshing... with a beautiful music playing on backround.I'm so glad you're going to make a great forest.

If the forest is like a character, how it should look will depend on what kind of character it is.Is the forest wild, dangerous, forbidding? Is it beautiful, tranquil, refreshing? Is it dark, gloomy, twisted? Is it full of life and home to lots of creatures? Have people (human, elven, dwarven, or dryadic) ever lived there? How old is it? What kind of reputation does it have among the people who live nearby?Tell me who this character IS, and then we can tell you how it should look.

As long as it doesn't look like generic tiled amateurish NWN1-style forests (though good mod-designers of course know how to make the best of their tools), I'll be happy. Maybe my GPU won't be, but who cares about silicon, anyway? :)

From what I've seen so far, in sketches and renderings, the world in Witcher 2 will look beautiful, extraordinarily so.My only, annoyance is that I can not use some of these renderings as wallpapers, since I cannot save them from the site .Or maybe it can be done, and I'm losing my touch ?Hmmm ...

I love how the forest looks in TW2. Pretty much exactly how I would make a forest look like in a game like this. Big tall trees, some mist to make it look little mysterious with some nice blur on the distance and great looking god rays coming through the leaves. Overall looks excellent.

I am not being negative just realistic, i would prefer they concentrated on characters, plot and side missions rather than colours.

You don't seem to realize that they have people who concentrate on the characters, plot and missions while another group of people who are specialized to work on the graphics and atmosphere of the game. They can't just put EVERYONE to work on the freaking plot... Do people even think anymore these days before posting stuff like this or are they really so clueless.

Just like that. Also much space, some ruins, maybe pure rivers/waterplaces... and very different kind of terrain; unique places...

I do know how games are made so thank you for the obvious reply, don’t assume that if someone posts something you don’t like it automatically makes them idiots without understanding about games.

You have every right to have your opinion, just like everyone else here. I just didn't - and still don't - see the point of posting your concerns about the story in a thread about the new forest, which is mainly about the looks of the game. That's an entirely different field, and though we all know that there are terrible games with superb graphics, nothing so far points into that direction for TW2. Just meaning well, no need to get angry.Back to topic: That monster slashing screen looks VERY bloody. Great stuff, I see that CDPR is making no compromises here. Please, keep TW2 mature, and if you have trouble publishing it your way in ... well, Germany, where I live, then don't do it all. We fans and every other decent gamer here will get it from the UK or elsewhere to have it the way you want it to be.

I am not angry, sorry if my post made you think that.I personally think the colours are a bit over the top and should be toned down a little but the forest looks great.

Riiight, there's nothing about your post that I didn't like, it's just out of place to talk about story in a thread about the forest. But whatever, let's end this and get back on the topic.
