How to open "txt" files of The Witcher GAME, not modules

I need all text files from The Witcher, not from modules, by whole acts. By text files I mean:
  • [#]dialogues[#]journal and bestiary entries[#]text in cut scenes[#]all narration
How to open them in D'jinni? Is it possible?I've found some dialogues of people you walk by, they talk in the background, e.g. "Mother said you are an evil man. I fear you."

they are mostly the *.dlg files ... the names are not terribly descriptive, but once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad.you need to "extract the original game files" to get those :peace:

did you download either of the "unbiffing" tools ? that's where you startyou run one of those on your Main.key file and wait .... quite a while and it will extract a ton of files which you can then inspect in djinni

uh :D Thanks to you I've finally found "extracting the original files" cause I wrote in wiki search "biffing tools" (extract the original files doesn't work), it's hard to find something on wiki if u don't know what to look for XOXOXOXO ;)HOW TO... OPEN / EXTRACT -ORYGINAL- GAME FILES:
  • [o]1. Read http://djinni.wikia.com/wiki/Extracting_the_original_files[o]2. Read http://djinni.wikia.com/wiki/KEY_BIF_V1.1_format[o]3. Second link contains list of needed applications (link at the bottom), you choose one - I downloaded BifRip[o]4. Start BifRip[o]5. Open " \Data\main.key and wait patient till it's done
Sorry but I'm complete newbie :/[edit]em I found "write to msgs to file" so I think I have extreacted files list... (?)

Should I move them somewhere else? cause I read somewhere that they can interfere with oryginal files?Actually I would like to delete all files, except dlg, can I do that? - having in mind that extracted files list

Yes you can delete them. Move only what you want to a folder of your choosing, delete the rest. And yes pay close attention to the extracted file list and only move or delete files from that list.

Yes, it's possible. UnBif your game, open D'Jinni, look at the conversation files. The Journal is in conversation files called 'Character.dlg', 'Place.dlg', etc. If you want these as text you can export them from the dialogue editor in D'Jinni as XML. The only exception to this is quest journal entries which are in the quest files (you can export these as XML as well). The directory to the journal is a .2da file called Journal.2da which should be fairly self explanatory. .2da files are text files with a fairly simple format.
