How to use the Vegetation tool

So I finally found out how to create custom vegetation lists. Heres a gif of the process: <!-- m -->https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9876544/HowToC ... tation.gif<!-- m -->

If the gif is too fast or too slow, you can download this zipfile which has all the pictures and you can do it at your own pace. <!-- m -->https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9876544/HowToC ... tation.rar<!-- m -->

Edit: Found out how to delete the painted assets. Just hold shift while you are in painting mode to start deleting. Whatever type of asset you have selected will be the only type getting deleted.

Edit2: Probably something else I should mention, you can't click anywhere on the sliders to change them. You gotta drag that pointer for the changes to actually apply.

Edit3: There is now a wiki page with information about the vegetation tool; http://wiki.cdprojektred.com/redkit/Vegetation+Tool Theres also a video by Klabautermann; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGBtgUqm4po&feature=youtu.be

Thank you, but how do I erase vegetation I planted with the "paint vegetation" tool?

Edit: Hold Shift

Thanks, it was very helpful! I was wondering why we need to go through Gardener Tool instead of using Vegetetion Tool straight forward

Just painting vegetation like that makes things much easier, thanks!

Also, does anybody know if you can alter the wind effect/speed on different vegetation?
Some of them move way too much.

You are not in the vegetation, but in the terrain tool. If you click on "Add material from asset browser", you add the texture you currently clicked on in the asset browser to your tile (tile = a square part of your level). You can see this material to the right of your pictures "port_wood_chip".
You will find more answers to this in the video tutorial about how to start in Redkit from Klabautermann. :)

View > Filters _ debug options > Editor Options > Debug > Then check if VisualDebug is checked or not, if it's not checked. Check it, else the yellow ring and every other tool disappears.

If that's not it, it can be that you've gotten the same bug we have. It's that the yellow ring gets offset even when the terrain is flat. Should look something like this;

CD Projekt knows about it and are hopefully fixing it

It looks like normal behavior to me.

It you want to spare some Computing power you can unload some of the resources in your World tree or create World partitions.

Not the correct thread for that question, but if you do want speed when generating a navigation mesh, go down to properties and uncheck "doNotUseThreads" so it's set to false. If it's set to true RedKit will only be using 1 core to generate it. If it's set to false it will use all of them.

I think it's bugged out or something. I can't see it either, the thing just puts grass wherever the cursor is.
