How well would TW2 run on ym system?

So I just bought it digitally from Amazon, I'm a few months late jumping into TW2 with work and summer vacation taking up most of my time.

Anyway.. I'm running an AMD Phenom X4 925, 4GB A-DATA DDR3 RAM, Dual HIS Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 memory, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Dual Hitachi 500GB SATA drives 7200rpm, Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H mobo, and Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200w PSU.

EDIT: Seems to have a problem updating the game.. I got it to install fine and it started to autoupdate. But it keeps downloading the same patch over and over.. It downloads the patch, says Verifiying ATARI.exe and then just starts downloading it again and continues to repeat.

The patch size is 9052kb.

Try this, mate:

Shutdown the launcher/autoupdate to stop the looping sequence.

Download manually all the patches you need from here: http://www.en.thewitcher.com/support/
And the base patch (aka patcher) according to your region/version here: http://www.en.thewitcher.com/patch/

Now, shutdown your internet connection and do the patching manually, starting from the base patch, and on to the 1.1., 1.2., and 1.3.

BUT, do so with the following steps to make sure it works:

1. After you install the base patch (ATARI/EFIGS/etc) start patching from 1.1.

2. Before patching to 1.2., don't forget to move all the .dzip files to another folder, EXCEPT "pack0.dzip".

3. Patch to 1.2.

4. Again, move all the .dzip files except pack0.dzip to another location before patching to 1.3.

5. Patch to 1.3., return all the moved .dzip files back to the original folder.

6. Open the "Configurator.exe" and configure as you like. This is set the game-supported resolutions and fill up the now still empty "user.ini" file. After which, do not use that program again. Access and customize everything directly from user.ini file.

7. Search for references regarding user.ini file configurations on Google. But the most notable is this: http://forum.noteboo...ues-solved.html

8. Start the game by directly accessing Witcher.exe in /bin/ folder, using Administrator priv if necessary. If the game hangs on too long, open your TaskManager panel and kill "Witcher.exe" process.

9. Try no. 8 once again.

ADDENDUM:
To avoid FoV issue that comes with Patch 1.3., experiment with resolutions by editing the "user.ini" file in /My Document/Witcher 2/Config/ folder, under the following section:

[Viewport]
Height=xxx
Width=xxx

Set it based on the supported res displayed in your video card display setting, with the following sample guideline:
If the FoV on my monitor looks truncated at 1024x768, I'd try to customize it to 1024x740. This seems to fix the issue, so the strings in my user.ini file under [Viewport] section will look like this:

[Viewport]
Height=740
Width=1024

The trade-off of this method, however, is that you have to set the Fullscreen flag in user.ini file to "0", because the game doesn't support custom resolutions view.

Fullscreen=0

Goodluck, yo.

Thanks. Didn't have to do all those steps though, I just went to the support page and downloaded the latest patch there and everything is green.

Game runs pretty good, not as good as I had hoped but good enough with pretty graphic settings.
