Humble Suggestion : TW2 on PS4/XB1!

First of all ,I am well aware that CDPR's absolute priority is TW3 and that they are mostly done with TW2.However, TW2 may still be able to reach more audience hungry for a great game.Its one of the most beautiful games ever made and is perfectly suited for next gen consoles,meaning it doesn't need aspects to be rebuilt, unlike TW1.

Its well known that Playstation users in particular missed out on the game and that 360 isn't quite like what a PC could handle.So perhaps a sublime high setting PS4/XB1 version of TW2 Enhanced Edition would be a great thing to do. The game hasn't aged one bit and is particularly charming and beautiful to look at even years after release.

Though its probably impossible to make it in time before TW3, It would be great if CDPR co-markets TW2 next gen while promoting TW3.A great way to familiarize people with a great game.Even if just a digital release!

I think there is some room for untapped potential here.Especially when there are so few RPGs coming out for the new systems.I mean Look at this!!

Current effort with Linux port of TW2 shows that CDPR have some porting projects going on for it, so may be they'll get to consoles as well, on the other hand those projects probably have low priority. Linux port must be not that complicated, because TW2 was already released for OS X.

PS4 and Xbox One on the other hand would require more work and code rewriting, so it's a bigger hurdle and CDPR might be not interested in that, preferring to focus on porting newer titles to more platforms. Still, it's highly probable that TW2 will appear on Steam Machines (since SteamOS is Linux). So if you want to play TW2 on the new generation of consoles - that can be your option.

I am thinking after their experience with TW3, they are very capable with new consoles which are easier to work with compared to PS360.

They could even outsource the project if it affects them internally.

At least I hope something is going on with TW2 under wraps!

@alyza: I think it's not about how familiar they are. It's about how much effort that would require. They have priorities after all. TW2 for Linux seems like a low hanging fruit. TW2 for Xbox One and PS4? Not really. As I wrote above, consoles users can consider Steam Machines if they want to play TW2 on new generation of consoles in the future. Just note that CDPR didn't comment anything about such possibility, so keep that in mind.

Also, CDPR had bad history with outsourcing (i.e. the Rise of White Wolf failure), so I'm not sure they'll go with it. They'll probably hire people internally to do such kind of work. But again, we are just guessing here.

Yeah if they remade TW2 in 1080p and add some new stuff to it here and there like remove all loading screens and the stuff we didnt like in the game that would be awesome. Fable did it. But I think cdpr can do it better if they add the new combat system from TW3 and whatever fine tuning they like it would be a hit.

Indeed. One can only CDPR will consider the possibility at some point.

Its really gonna and I don't see why it shouldn't happen at all.Its gonna be beautiful and many console users have not played it yet.

I would be fine with just TW2 EE myself ,but obviously any bonus stuff from their side would be terrific.

@Gilrond I amnot familiar with how much work it would require ,but hopefully not much more than getting the game to work on said consoles and optimizing it.The core game itself being complete would ease the job , I assume. Sorry for late reply.I spaced out on that.

On a serious note... I personally don't see a port happening. CDPR seems to be busy looking to the future at hand. On the more artistically side however. The install base of the current gen should probably be double by release. Since it will still be early in the life of them I'd wager about a fourth, maybe a fourth of users will buy it. So maybe about two to three million on the consoles. I'm no expert so don't take that to the bank.

If it sells quite well on them they *might* do a remake. Or a anniversary edition bundle.
