The same thing happened to me, luckily I had kept my Nilfgard fancy attire that I'd bought in Novigrad. Yennifer approves of that but not the Skellige formalwear. It is very strange considering those are the clothes she leaves you in the room.
You have to match the right top with the right pants. There is no indication of which is which though, so just reload a save and figure out the right outfits that make Yen happy. You know, if making Yen happy matters that much to you..
