i cant believe i did this- share

So i am playing my up-teenth play of TWEE1, just went into chapter 3. I have discovered that i completely ignored Triss and did not get to enjoy her celebration. I also completely ignored Seigfreid and Yaven ( sorry my spelling is terrible here) in the swamps and did not do that quest line either. So, does anyone know if i am completely messed up in the game now or can i just walk around like i meant to do this?

No, you didn't mess up anything, I actually did the same thing too. So, Nope.exe

Just pretend you meant to do that :)

Missing the party (I think you mean Shani's) is merely unfortunate; it's one of the cleverest set pieces in the game, but there are no consequences.

Ignoring Siegfried and Yaevinn in the swamps is what you would do on the Neutral path anyway. You can still choose later, if you want to side with one or the other.

oh good! Thanks Guys :) still laughing at myself for missing Shani's party (oops i did that in public ? you would never believe how many time i say Triss when i Mean Shani, forgive me, i am old and feel the need to call roll) I love that party though, so I hope Dandelion and I will be fine in chapter three. Yes i was going for a neutral path this time.

I feel sad for you; I look forward to Shani's party every time I play the game, since I think it's one of the high points of Chapter 2. And how nifty of CDPR to have three different people you can take to the party, even for something that isn't plot-crucial.

yes Cory, agreed ! I think i might have to go back two saves and try that again :) It feels too strange not to have done that part.

I've never actually taken anyone but Zoltan to the party. It always seemed like the logical choice since he's known Geralt the longest, and I love him and Dandelion catching up at the party (plus, drink dwarves are always fun!).

But this has got me wondering, is the party scene as good if you take Siegfried or Carmen?

I like the party best with Zoltan, but then I'm always either Neutral or Scoia'tael, and I adore the dwarves in general and Zoltan in particular.

If you take Carmen (you have to pay her!), then
Shani is jealous of her, and she and Carmen spend the party glaring at each other.

If you take Siegfried,
He and Shani do a little bit of mild flirting, which those who are fond of Siegfried seem to really like. I'm not a big Siegfried fan -- he seems like a total prig to me -- so this didn't do anything for me. But those who like Siegfried a lot should definitely see it.

Dandelion sings a different song, depending on which friend you take to the party, so those who like Dandelion will probably want to try all three paths.

Haha, watched them on youtube. Siegfried singing was pretty good. But yeah, I still love the Zoltan version most.

There's a fourth person you can take: Kalkstein.

No, you can't. Not unless there is a mod that supports it.
Most people will believe Guy, because he knows everything*.

But here's proof. I opened the quest in Djinni, and there are three paths -- and only three paths -- through the party quest. If you look at the path name that's in the brown stripe, the three choices are "Zygfryd invited," "Zoltan invited," and "Hela invited." "Zoltan" is Zoltan, of course, and it's easy to tell that "Zygfryd" is "Siegfried." "Hela" is Carmen's name in the game files. As you can see, there's no path for Kalkstein.

You can't modify quest files during the game (unless you use the Saved Game Editor), so I'd be VERY surprised if there were a mod for this, since it would only be usable with games that you start from the beginning.

Oh, and you know how you have to go downstairs and steal something from Granny partway through the party? What you're supposed to steal differs, depending on who you take to the party.

Zoltan wants Granny's pickles and lard, Siegfried wants Granny's cordial, and Carmen wants Granny's diary.

*Hey, Guy -- is it your day to be the Resolute Girl, or am I on duty today? Must be your day, or I'd know, huh? ;)

Only on days when the Resolute Girl grows a beard ;)

Thanks for the proof. I only remembered trying to invite Kalkstein and getting no option for it.
