I hate romance options!

No no we want to romance both of them in one playthrough :p

Judy for the day, Panam for the night - and sooner or later everything will be alright ! :ROFLMAO:

I just want the game to do away with restrictions completely when it comes to romance. Like... I can have a female voice, breasts, and a penis, but you're still gonna tell me who I can date based on outdated notions of sexuality and gender? Give me a break... People replace half their face with metal in this game. Who cares who has what genitalia??? Honestly.

Also, would it kill you guys to have made it possible to go on more than one date with people? Why can't we take our inputs/outputs on more than one interactive outing? It's infuriating and it makes the second half of the game especially feel really effing lonely.

So, I find out there's only ONE female for a male V to romance...Panam. I know this has probably been posted before but never really found the right thread.

I wanted to romance Judy, but find out she's a lesbian. Sure, there's a male gay guy to romance, sorry, not my style!!! Judy was more my type but, NOOOOO, she's off limits. I mean I get my hopes up (not one to look ahead on walkthroughs, guides or helps). I mean I got a chance to kiss River...I laughed! I did the friend thing. D- to the Devs....it was a sad letdown for me and took away a star in any of my ratings.

I can completely relate to OP in this matter.
I luckily (always) chose to play with a female character (It's a thing inherited from my Tomb Raider days I guess). But I would like to have had an alternative at least. Bethesda are smart in implementing gender-free romances. It works, and everyone is happy.

Something is puzzling me though:
CDPR are actually very up front by introducing trans-related character building. Why on earth didn't they follow up on this in the game's romances as well? It's probably just a very few lines that need changes? Consider this since we now know that it's your chosen voice for you character that determines weather your character is 'male' or 'female'.

On top of this I think it's a weird fact that Panam or Judy really don't care what body type you have?
I know for sure I'd be very surprised, confused or scared if I found out that my crush wasn't what I'd expected him/her to be?

Personally, I think its better when characters are written to have specific traits, and not just a blanket NPC waiting for the player to make them what they are.. It feels more realistic. And I thought thats what we all wanted in rpgs.. Realism, and immersion? It also adds to replayability (something severely lacking here), and may get players to create a different type of character, that they normally wouldnt.. I know I never play female characters. I try to make myself in games.. But I can be persuaded to play differently, when a story is good enough. (No, romances are not a good enough reason for me personally. They fall way down the bottom of my priority/interest list in gaming)

It adds character, to the characters, as opposed to them being an empty husk, waiting for the player to make them what they are. How much personality can npcs have, when more and more of it is removed, so the player can decide who/what they are in game?

I think there should have been more romantic/ friends with benefits options for all variations of V. From what i've heard there was perhaps meant to be more, but got cut out due to the game having to be ready for release. Judy for example, i've seen gamers on pc say they found files of content remnants that suggest she was originally going to be bisexual and romance for male and female, but they ended up just putting the female path in.

Personally would of liked to be able to bang more NPCs even if this didnt lead to a permanent romance option, like we had in witcher 3 (Triss and Yen main 2, but you could bang others just as good friends). I mean personally would of liked to have had sexual relations with Rhino and Claire too.

I think it is EXTREMELY hard to create good romances in games. At least in a way that makes it feel original and 'real'.

The best romances I've experienced was the one with Liara T'Soni in Mass Effect. That was the first I think.
The second one was Triss in Witcher 2.
The third (and second best until now) is the one with Yennefer of Vengerberg. I can still feel the atmosphere sitting on that ship on the mountain. Shivers...
Now I can add Judy's to the list. And perhaps she is even better made than any of the other ones.

Bethesda really tried to do something after Skyrim when they found out that's what people asked for. So, they put a little more effort into Fallout 4. These romances were 'ok', sort of. But they didn't have any excitement attached to them a such. They were just nice. Bethesda even tried to create a point system based on like or dislike determining the outcome.
I can't tell if the Panam was any good since I always play a female character.

Nah, the best romances are still those mentioned above.

Judy's romance was fantastic. The way you experienced her personality and then the deep dive into her past. This was very original. Judy is also a VERY strong character.
