It would be fun to play it again, I don't think I would have done anything differently though. I just bought the book off Amazon. The writing in the game the story so impressed me! When I have the time probably in Dec I want to play KOTOR 2 something I never played before. The Witcher was better then what I imagined it to be!

Maybe you could try doing things differently? Trust me, it's worth it. Also, The Witcher 2 is on it's way and you can check it's trailer on YouTube if you want.Depending on your language, TW books may vary from 1 to many depending on how many were translated. Thus far, 2 books were translated for English.I am being careful not to spoil anything for you so pardon if you were expecting spoiler details... for that you would just need to ask ;D

The Witcher 2 is on the way? It's quite early to say something like that. But that doesn't mean we starve to death until we finally, finally embrace TW 2. StrangeCat, you should cast a glance at the very busy D'Jinni modding forum. There is always something going on... adventures, mods. All available community adventures you find here.Still want to play KOTOR 2 next? ;)

Thank God for The Witcher, otherwise how would Bioware been able to work out how to make Dragon Age! The Witcher's - The Warden's. The Dark Fantasy - The Dark Fantasy. The put upon Dwarf's - the put upon Elf's. The Politics of the gameworld - the Politics of the gameworld. The Sex - The Sex. The use of the Infinity Engine - an Engine to look like the Infinity Engine!!!Yes, truly. Dragon Age - The Witcher! CD Projekt may have to call their next game The Witcher 3 !!!!! :)

Witcher 2 on the way? Of course I saw the Beautiful Leaked Alpha video, it's what Developers show to investors and potential publishers, not something you want everyone seeing. On the way though? I would think this game is a year away probably. Na I would play The Witcher the same way I did. I feel I did everything right. I am very happy I played the game. The characters, the romance, the story everything is beyond top! Some of the best writing was seducing and playing the game with Adda to get her Card. That seemed to real! Creating that Sexual Tension in a women. Actually All the writing in the game was Great! Truly a Masterpiece of a game! Chapter 4 just blew me away!! Then the ending Just wow! At the moment I am actually to busy with music to play anything, but yea KOTOR 2 LOL! I look forward to reading The Book! Blood Elves!I

Music? Can you elaborate? The only music to my ears is TW OST... ambience to my ears ::)Oh, and Blood of Elves is the second book of short stories, sounded like you thought it was "The" book as in first book. So, which side did you enjoy the most? Or have you not tried 'em yet? So happy you found the story great. It's 1 of the best aspects. :peace:

The Blood of Elves is the first novel, isn't it?There are about a billion (read "10ish) books that are just a collection of Geralt short stories, of which only The Last Wish has been translated into English. Then you have the novels, of which Blood of Elves is the only one translated into English. That's how I've remembered it all, at least, though it's been a while since I've checked. I don't expect any more English translations for a while, because apparently Polish-English translators are LAZY, and believe they have more important things to do. But, as we know, there is little more important than hurrying up and getting all things Sapkowski to me as quickly as possible. To be honest, I think it'd be quicker to just learn Polish!Anyway, I'm currently upgrading my RAM. 1.4GB is not really enough, but I imagine 3GB should do the job OK. Unfortunately, my PC is fairly old (DDR1!), but The Witcher should work okay once I've sped it up a little. May have to get a new graphics card as well, to really feel the game, but that's a secondary purchase. I don't NEED one, I just want it. But the game is horrendous right now, what with having so little power. Actually, I think I'll do it now. Gwahaha! I'm off to tweak my PC, and I promise that's not a euphemism. ;)On topic: if the game captures the best thing about the books (i.e. the morality and realism in terms of human nature and personality) then there is absolutely zero chance that I will anything but adore this game. Graphics mean nothing to me, really (FF6 anyone?). If it's playable and has a good enough story, then I will love it.

I think you're right. You could learn Polish faster than they translate the 3rd book (Sword of Destiny) into English :D. Though I wouldn't count these guys out, they're amazing with translation. You can find out more on the Order of the Books and even Petition for Sword of Destiny. Only in this way will you really, truly appreciate The Witcher's world of wonder...not that you don't already, but you would so much more gain understanding of it through the eyes of the Author, the brilliant creator.Hope this helps you LOVE The Witcher even more. :peace:

Nothing tells a story like a book and, like you said, the simple fact is that you can't truly appreciate Geralt or anything Witcher related if you haven't read the books. I don't doubt the ability of CDPR, but they will never be able to translate the books into a game fully, in the same way that it is impossible to properly translate a book into film. That's why I want more of the Witcher on my bookshelves. From what I hear though, The Witcher captures the book in a way that no other book cum movie/game has been able to. I'm practically vibrating in anticipation! So close to playing the game: only one step left!

Maybe make a little shrine? I know you found the thread... interesting is it not? Now, about comparing books with movies: Have you checked The Hexer series?? They tell me it's not canon, but I love it nonetheless. While waiting to get the books if interested, you can immediately download the series (13 episodes I think :hmmm:) and start from there. Though my advice is to read at least The Last Wish first. Man, by the end of all this, your LOVE will have proven only bite-sized compared to what you'll feel towards the end. :peace:

Haha, I don't think even the smallest shrine would fit in university accommodation!Have yet to check out the series. I will do in the future, I think. Oh yeah, I already own and have read The Last Wish and Blood of Elves. Bought them the day after learning a little about The Witcher world!

Music: I was doing Celtic styles But Am now doing Epic Film Choir style. (Think Connan The Barbarian Score) I have to get East Wests Choir Lib down better. Two tracks 12 minutes of music. I only found Blood Elves on amazon though sadly. It's Already shipped.(Spoilers!!!!)I of course sided with the Elves. I saved the Witch, I taught Alan what was right from wrong(subjective I guess) I fell in love with Shani, I saved the vampires, I got tons of cards, I amused myself by getting Adda's Card(amazing writing!) I saved Adda of course. I let Vincent do his justice thing. I let Triss steam and be mad, she was to much into her own agenda anywayz.Chapters that were amazing, 1, 2, 3, and 4. 5 was ok but it just seemed a means to an end and getting Raven's Armor of course and bring it all together to confront the Grand Master and Save Adda ok 5 was great too!! ;D4 really brought 1 back into perspective with Destiny. Great Game!Honestly the only game I can compare story wise to The Witcher is Mask of the Betrayer and maybe Knights of the Old Republic) Witcher is really in a league all it's own though! Everyone should check it out. I am getting my dad to play it.

My Favorite Series is The Wheel of Time, I am die hard fan of that! I finished book 12 the moment it came out. I look forward to getting into the Witcher World.Funny you mentioned Final Fantasy 6. I used to think Final Fantasy VII was the greatest RPG ever along side Knights of the Old Republic, then I played The Witcher, now I have second thoughts, I almost think the The Witcher is the Greatest RPG ever! Everything came together perfectly in that game. I would put it right next to Final Fantasy VII and Knights of the Old Republic.

Do check the series out, it's worth it.Well Done!! I only bought the books when I managed to find them... like after playing the game for a year. I too am on campus, but the problem is that I don't have the goodsto build a little shrine... all I got is the game and Witcher Medallion (my precious  *rubs cheek against Medallions spiky edges with an evil grin on his face ). Not enough, you see...

You bet! :) Hey, how did you get your dad to play this? I know we have some oldies here, but that's different as they are gamers, so a totally different story.I'm talking about the average worker dad who does not use the computer for anything else but work. Well, mine can't get off Spider Solitaire... and it's really annoying :wall:

That's strange, 56236. Which RPG's have you played in the past? The Witcher is nothing like the kill-levelup-kill sort of RPG (e.g. Diablo or Titan Quest (not running those games down -- I enjoyed them -- but they're a lot more mindless than quest-based gameplay)), and it's a bit different from party-based RPG's (e.g. Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age), but it's a lot like the latter games, only without a party. What did you dislike about previous RPG's?Of course The Witcher is special, but it's also very definitely an RPG.Er, how old were you when you played previous RPG's? Maybe you had to reach a certain level of maturity before you could enjoy quest-based play?

I started major gaming last year December till August this year, now I don't have time for it anymore... so it was recently and I was mature enough, I think :hmmm: .. . :D Anyways, I've played Party / Member games, but they were a bore as no One member was good enough to be my favorite. Then there was Titan Questwhich I enjoyed, but those types also bore me as the looped melee and scaling is a drag. Even though some stories were interesting, they were nothingcompared to the changing plots and moralities of The Witcher. Everyone LOVES the story of this game which is one of the strongest aspects of this game.I would like to assume I'm mature enough, but if you think otherwise, please mention so ;) If I recall correctly, it was you who said I've still to experience life when you found out my age. What better way to learn than through the piercing eyes of The Witcher??

No slur intended! I didn't know that you only started gaming a year ago. Most gamers start young, and I thought if you first played an RPG when you were 10 or something, you might have a different opinion if you played now.

Maybe it's my tone of typing my posts, I guess it's a good thing I got my little avatar friend... so picture him to whom your typing... that's basically my attitude (Smiling)... ;D ;DOf course I started gaming young (say 8?), but I was more into strategy and didn't spend more than 2 hrs max on the pc. Since I LOVE The Witcher soo much, I spendover 4 hours of game-play per day when I'm free. Though with studies now, forum is all I'm busy with. ;)

i thought the world, the atmosphere, the story and the graphics were great.only thing i didnt like is that theres no customization, not even character creation.(i know its a novel, but they could still allow u to change his looks).and the most annoying part was the camera and movement.it is, as i say, "consolised". it feels as if u dont controll your movement, targets, and camera angle as well as u should.most action and rpg games that are released for consoles have this problem usually, so i wasnt surprised (eg. assassin's creed, and more)and of course u got the retarded point and click style, for old, really old school rpg players...so basivally, i loved everything about the game, except movement control, target control, and camera control =P
