I've been waiting for this port for over a year and I can't express how pleased I am with the product. Admittedly, I wasn't sure how immersed I'd feel playing a predefined character, but I'm happy to say I feel like I've been able to make Geralt into 'my' Geralt, so to speak. While there are some things I'm not keen on, like rolling all over the place to avoid an attack then having to run back to the enemy to re-engage, overall the story is so engaging that I kept pressing onward, despite my frustration and aggravation with certain combat mechanics.

Kudos to the devs and team at CDPR and thanks from a first time, but not last time, customer :D

Out of a 1-10 rating.

Start from 10.

Difficulty: Easy mode. I will admit I'm not the most skilled gamer. In fact I'm probably not skilled at all with controllers or keyboards when it comes to gaming. I rely heavily on "easy" modes in games. I think it's great to have mulitiple difficulty settings for everyone to enjoy. I had such a hard time with TW1 that I didn't get more than 1/4 into the game before I quit. Same thing happened in TW2. Many probably disagree with me, but I define "easy" differently than some gaming companies do. I got to the Kayran in TW2, that was my quitting point. Three days of no success is enough for me. I find my character dies a lot, it's frustrating and unenjoyable. This brings my 10 to a 9. That's generous I think.

Quests: Lots of quests and when direction is given, all is well. Spending hours and hours with no direction is another game killer. I like constant progress. I don't mind if stuff takes time, as long as I feel like I'm progressing and having fun. Running around trying desperately to get clue as to what I'm supposed to do is not fun. Having to go online and do research for hours is not fun. I found I had to make choices due to lack of direction. This brings my 9 to 8. Still being generous.

System requirements: Either have to have a decent PC or an Xbox console. I have a decent PC with a horrible graphics card and I don't own an Xbox. I own a handful of PC games that aren't anywhere near as demanding. I've only had one online game that was almost as demanding with if not better graphics, just as good. Final Fantasy 14. I had to mess with the settings for hours and ended up running the resolution to 800x600 to play the game. Graphics were still decent, but it's sad that so much has to be done to get this game to play. I'm not cheap, I'm disabled and can't really afford to spend much money on stuff. This brings my 8 to a 7.5 which I think is fair.

Storyline: Is great. I wish I could have progressed to see how it goes. I never got to finish TW1 either. My 7.5 to an 8.

Graphics/Artwork: Beautiful. Even though I didn't get to really experience the best TW2 has to offer, what I saw I loved. My 8 to 8.5.

Gameplay: When I wasn't being beat up, which was most of the time, the sword fighting was fun to watch. Easier to use than TW1 if I remember right. Using signs was fun too. I had a hard time with boxing matches, much easier in TW1 and the armwrestling was hard too, but those don't really matter in the storyline, I think. Overall gameplay is good most of the time. 8.5 to 9.

My overall score of TW2 is a 9. I probably will trade it in towards another game because it's too hard for me, but I like the storyline, artwork and uniqueness. I know most people will disagree with me. This is my own opinion. CDProjekt is loved for a reason. I wish them well. I just wish they could make easy mode "easy", have solid direction in their quests and make their games available to PS3 too.

I enjoy the game, but not how it's running for me. I went out and bought a new computer, with specs that the employees told me would run the Witcher 2 like a dream. But after playing some of it, it's laggy every where and quite cumbersome to play.

Just finished the game yesterday (for the xbox) besides some very few minor glitches I loved this game and my only major complaint would be is my first Playthrough wasn't long enough but I feel that way about all games I enjoy this much lol.

And CDProjekt Red has replaced bioware for me this was an awesome game just hope the third game will be on a system I can play when it comes out

I don't know which game you mean, the original witcher or the second one.

I only played the witcher 2 and finished it today. It's a great game and it's easily my GOTY so far "360 version"

Never thought I'd prefer a game more than Mass Effect but this game is easily better in my opinion.

The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of new game +

I love it, I have some minor issues with the game vid driver support for ATI cards ( however these problems could be as much ATI's problem as CDPROJEKT's), but that aside, I love not just the game, but there continued support of the game with free enhancements, and additional story line, even new dialog.

I think it is wonderful, in most all respects.

Difficult, very difficult question. Before the EE update, my answer would have been: "I love, love, LOVE IT!!!!!"
But the EE somehow disappointed me. Definitely not the new content; for their attitude towards us gamers CDPR deserves a medal.
But the atmosphere in Loc Muinne was better in version 2.0, at least in my opinion. Lighting wasn't so extremely artifical and the chosen music for the cutscenes fitted them perfectly. That's not the key part of the game, I know, but it really bugged me off and spoilt my experience.
Still, it's a wonderful game and I had two complete playthroughs with the EE version. But I guess I'll reinstall the game in version 2.0, to me it seems it served me the rounder gaming experience.

Conclusion: I love the game, really. But more like it was before the EE, not how it is now.

On a scale of 1-10, I will be very generous and give it a 1 thus far. I don't know what game it is for it has no relationship to the witcher 1 game at all, it has the worst combat of any game I have ever played. I have been trying to play it for a year and every time I try, it just breaks my heart to see how they have taken such a great game as the witcher one and turned it into this theasco. If anyone thinks I am being a bit harsh, remember I could have said what I really think.
I am now going to attempt to play again if I can find a save of after the escape and fistfight in the center of town.

Nobody goes after you just because you told us, you don't like the game. This forum would be a boring place if we only permit people to post how much they love the game.
But it would be helpful to know what excatly spoils your enjoyment when you say it's too complicated or it has the worst combat ;)

I'm about 2 hours into the game, I am not sure If my old fat fingers will be able to run the paddle like I used to... The game flows good, and as long as I can get by with just hack and slash (which so far looks sweet!) till my digital dexterity returns... I'm having fun so far though.

The menus are a bit complicated/busy, I am intrigued by the weight limit for my inventory (I think I am going to like this aspect), I haven't been a fan of leveling Matrix since Final Fantasy X. I could have used a more customizable character appearance too!

BUT those are my only complaints so far. So that's not really bad at all! The story has my interest, and though I have no problem personally with vulgar language, I do wish there was a PG option as my 11 year old son likes hanging out with his old man while I play...

Anyway I look forward to getting immersed in the world of Witcher2 on my X-Box.

One option would be while your son is at your side watching is to change audio language to Polish or others . At least that way he wouldn`t understand what was being said but would still be able to read them though .
