I LOVE IT vs I HATE IT

+
Well, might as well have my first post on this topic - seems like the best way to start commenting.

Andrzej Sapkowski. CDProjekt. I salute you.

The first for creating the story, characters and world themselves, which is marvelous work for a single man. I almost feel like I fell in love with Yennefer myself while reading the books.

The second for making the book-game transition, which went way beyond my spectations. I can barely wait for The Witcher 3, considering The Witcher 2: AoK was one of the best games I ever played. You have done a truly amazing job! If any of you, members of the CDP staff, reads this, rest assured that you, my friend, have NAILED IT. Thank you.

Now that I have shown my fanboy side, there's only one thing I want to ask of you... Please upload moar videos about the third game (like the gameplay and cinematic trailer) before it's released. I need something to feed upon since I'll have to wait for so fucking long!

What? Witcher is my favorite fantasy stories of all time.
LOTR, Game of Thrones, and such. They are amazing, huge respect for them.
But my top is The Witcher

I enjoyed both the previous Witcher games and had multiple playthroughs of both.In the news section there has been a lot of contests and giveaways which are great but the actual game play of the Witcher 3 was only shown to publishers, writers and select few at the shows closed door.We have read the reviews, but like a lot of us hear,we buy the games and i believe we should be the ones that get to see the game play, not the writers and people whom may never purchase the game or they get it for free. While its nice to win all the awards and such,we as fans ,will buy your game day one and in a lot of cases multiple platforms. So what i am saying is,show us the game play because we want to see it more than any writer or publisher who has to fill a magazine or internet space.

Currently on a playthrough of TW1 after 4-5 years. Starting to remember again why I fell in love with the game back when it was released. Sure it hasn't aged very gracefully (graphics and presentation wise), the combat is still very unresponsive, there are still some bugs and the performance is abysmal in some places. But the atmosphere, story, characters and soundtrack are still something to behold.

Really looking forward to getting into TW2 afterwards as well since I haven't played a complete playthrough with the EE patch yet. :)

Hi,
I just finished W2 and tell my opinions, maybe it helps you to design W3. It's just one opinion but still.

-The 3 development branch is cool.
-I like there is fewer type of equipment and the junk label on useless items.
-I liked the battle system, the 2 styles using simply the left and right mouse buttons. It is more reasonable than in W1.
-I liked the quests in stealth mode.
-Using renaissance clothing and armors was a very good idea. I like them all. The gambesons and hats (e.g. Roche) are cool and they are rarely seen in other games.
-It was good there were some other weapons not just swords. Sometimes I used a glaive in the first chapter for a change.
-It is very good the metagames are optional. Personally I skipped them all. Arm wrestling was impossible for example due the slow mouse.
-Control was terrible in W2. My keyboard and mouse were very slow. For example I hit the key to dodge many times but only the 6-7th was successful and I dodged too late. The same with the shortcuts. I had no chance in arm wrestling of course. Even the inventory was slow regardless of low or medium settings. I tryed 30-40 times to remain on the kayren's tentacle until I succeed. I'm not kidding with the number. I never experienced such a bad control with any other games or programs so far.
-W3 map is crap. I cannot understand why there is a difference between the small map (menu map) and the bigger map (with 'm' shortcut). The bigger map changes to the world map and I cannot see the bigger picture. Annoying.
-The chapter3 city in W2 is very bad. It was very annoying to find the way from a location to another. It's a labirinth and the map didn't help at all.
-The colored (R-Y-:cool:/> ores are needless. One can have good or even better weapons skipping them entirely. It's not a bug but they are needless.
-Dark places were far better in W1. Cat potion was a must and it was good that way. In W2 there are many fires underground, they are meanningless and makes the cat potion unnecessary. I think handling darkness was better in W1. Torches were cool as well.
-Main characters were better in W1, they had ... character :)/> . W2 characters are average and boring. Only Letho is well-built, partly because of his voice. In W1 the professor, Azar Javed, the detective, Thaler and many others were all unique, memorable persons and gave the game a cool feeling.
-I needed to check the internet too many times if I can sell certain items or not.
-Quest items should be deleted from the inventory after they are not needed anymore. For example I had the kayren trap to the end of the game I wasn't able to drop or sell it. (Using Yrden was far easier than bothering with the trap with slow controls.)
-Cooking potions at campfires had a cool feeling I missed in W2. However I missed the possibility using stoves in W1.
-It was a cool feature in W1 when I could brew a better potion using the appropriate combination of ingredients. In W2 using metagenes could have been such a possibility.
-I would make a bigger emphasis in W3 on quests killing big monsters. I would pay more for the player for such contracts and far less for monster parts. After all this is Geralt's job and this feature would make a better emphasis on such contracts. The hunting master in W1 was a bit strange as a role but this person can be a mayor, a captain or anyone else.
-There are too much money in W2. OK, it's good because one can change his sword or armor anytime without hesitation but still.
-More f*ckable women. W1 was good in this, 1/chapter if I remember well. It was fun to hunt them down. :)/>
-Geralt's armors look quite the same. Some difference would be better. OK, I know one was a bit more red another more blue but basically they look the same. Implementation is beatiful but the concept is boring in this case. I have seen some W3 screenshots and I see there is some hope for W3. :)/>
-Enviromental art is fantastic in W2!
-It would be better if we could see which abilities can be mutated before advancement.
-There should be at least 1 such a memorable decision like the werewolf case in W1 or the witch-peasants conflict. I missed them in W2.
-Crafting is rather annoying than interesting.
-The most annoying thing was the kayren battle. I almost gave up due the slow keyboard-mouse reaction. And the cutscenes didn't help me either. At the first time I cannot decide if I control Geralt or it is still a cutscene. But watching on youtube what to do helped me finally. It was the most terrible bossfight of my gaming experience. Fighting the 2 spider queens in the first chapter was also hard but that fight was a good feeling because there was more possibility to win not just a single scripted method.
-Trophies. I liked both ways, the W1 and W2 methods. W1 has a more better style as the witcher brings the trophy proving he defeated the big monster and gets the big money for it.
-Why are there lesser mutagenes? They are needless. But if someone use them making a potion they might improve that potion adding their bonus until the potion expires.
-It was a good event when I needed to lead king Henselt to draw the sign in the curse removing process.
-The inventory system was good in W2. I liked the herbs had no weight.
-I liked the guy with harpy feathers. :)/> At first I thought he will make wings from them trying to fly like Daidalos and Ikaros and dies. I like such jokes in games.
-The hanging part of Geralt's belt is jumping here and there constantly during meditation. Bad rigging.
-I missed the drinking part as well! Another memorable feature of W1.

Finally, W1 was a great game, W2 was rather average.
I tryed to replay W1 but lost my interest. I would love to play W2 on the potionmaker path and supporting nonhumans but there are too many annoying parts.
Compared to Dragon Age I replayed both DA1 and DA2. DA has more unique characters and their dialogs are brilliant.
I can help if you need ideas making memorable characters.

Good work for the staff!

Bye,
Zoltan of Budapest

Всем привет! Игра Ведьмак это грандиозное творение cdp да есть недостатки но все они тухнут перед красотой и динамикой этого мира.

concerning more replay value in dao.

it may be a fault of your memory - don't get me wrong i too remember the game to such an extent it takes years until i can replay it

the dao has more content relations wise - since it's a party game and therefore more to explore in a second play - also different classes which allow for a replay with differnet class.

seriously i expect a witcher 3 as a mix between w2 story and skyrim freedom to be hugely satisfying.

hopefully they woon't set some artificial timed main quest that would kill the freedom of exploration.

The pacing in TW2 when Gearlt follows another person to any given destination.
The AI is just fucking awful!! I Hate It LOL. Why can't we walk together?
Cuz I want to walk slow and enjoy the visuals but the dip shit I'm following-
Keeps jogging then stops like an idiot every 5 steps or so. Then when I try and jog,
The AI that I follow starts to fall behind me. Please fix this in TW3. Cuz it really sucks!!
Thank You

Well just finished the game on xbox360.
Hmm.. Not Bad but Not Great. Gawd is in the details.
I Hate some of the sound and mixing in the game.
Dandelion's voice acting is horrible.
I Hate the rolling doge and not being able to control it.
I Hate the pop ups and screen tear.
I Hate how Gearlt walks up and down stairs. It does not look real.
I Hate some of the lighting in the game. It's all wrong walking into a dark cave.
I Hate the foggy blue sky. Why can't it just be clear bright blue sky some times?
I Hate all the HUD clutter and not having the option to turn more stuff off and on.
I Hate not being able to jump.
I Hate that we don't get NG+
I Hate The NPC AI and Enemy AI
I Hate the QTE's
I Hate loading screens
I Hate how all the NPC AI's that I follow slam the door in my face.

I Love the Graphics Minus- the few ugly textures here and there.
I love the voice actor in the memory flash backs of the wither with cartoon animations.
My girlfriend said He should have been the voice for Dandelion.
Not some stupid American douche bag.
I Love the story.
I love the potential of this game.
I want The Wither 3 to be what I wanted this to be. Great.

Just pointed out some faults that are exclusive to the 8 year old console. From what I've seen they did a terrific job with the port though.

I suspect that some of the quirks in the lighting are also absent in the PC version. The lighting in general is a lot less precise in the 360 version from what I've seen.

I had no Idea Thank You.
Wow Xbox sucks.
If Microsoft can't fix that shit for XboxOne then
I'll get a Ps4.
I love the xbox controller damn it.
I Hate the Kinect, so stupid.

Yo did you here about the Shadow or mordor game.
Sounds like they are copying the witcher 3 a little bit.

Really? Calling him a douchebag because of his acting? And why even mentioning his nationality (could even be interpreted as being associated with "douche bag" in your sentence, what the heck)?

We just don't like him. He sounds stupid and out of place.
All the other actors sound similar.
He was like a cheesy American sandwich LOL
God Bless America Gawd Damn it.

I am so in love with these 2 games since I finally broke down and played them. I'm sorry I'm so late to the game and am so terribly excited for TW3 I can barely stand it!

Also: I love Dandelion ;)

In contrast to the most of the TW2 players i loved even the 3 Act it was more a huge prolog and in the story it was the most gripping part of the game
The first game i like to (maybe a little more)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! I love everything about it, even the little imperfections that give it character. Never change!

Okay I loved both games and looking Forward to Play TW3

BUT ONE THING I REALLY HATED
and it was close that I would have never finished TW2 was

If you mean the QTE`s the dev`s have stated that QTE`s will not be in Witcher 3 .

I played both games on the PC, but tw2 was with a xbox controller.

Well, first the things I loved:

- The plot (amazing job guys)

- The stealth mode was pretty good

- A lot of weapons, armors and items in general. Character customization is one of my favorite parts in any game.

- Arm wrestling, fighting, dice poker.

- Best side quests in the history of RPG.

Hated

- Group fights, much worse than tw1. Example: the operator fight on "From a Bygone Era". After a lot of tries i just gave up, those gargoyles were impossible.

- Interface (inventory, journal, etc) - HUGE step back from tw1, it's like you had to actually alt tab to access the inventory, and the organization was much easier on tw1. Even though I prefer the weight system to the slots one used on tw1, it would be much better if you could see all your items at once, instead of endless scrolling.

- The character development trees were not very well balanced, if you leveled the swordsmanship tree the game was much easier, especially in Loc Muinne. A similar thing happens with the items, it's like in the last 2-3 hours of the game you get all the good items, when you have very few fights left.

- Geralt's figurine, especially from what i've seen of tw3. It's like you guys are transforming him into a ninja or something, reminds me a lot of Metal Gear, and that is a big fucking NO. Not even Assassins Creed, that is much more ninja style than The Witcher, does that. wtf guys?/>/>/>/>?
The other characters are pretty great though, except for Letho. Those pants can't be very confortable.

- Overall bugs and mechanics, but I guess that enough has been said about that.

Anyway, I loved the 2 games in general, and I'm surely going to buy tw3. You guys are surely raising the expectation level, I just hope the game can keep up.

Now, about the plot (spoilers):
In the end, when Vernon says that Letho's waiting for you at the Temerian camp... that was too much man. He spent the whole game looking for him and then just "hey, Letho wants to talk to you, tell him I said hi!". wtf?

Also I don't see why you can't save Triss from the Nilfgaardians AND do whatever Vernon or Iorveth wants you to do.

Is it just me?
