Oh, ok so i quote context:

I am talking here especially how stupid is boycott of tw3 because of physX.

In which you responded:

Not really, it's ok to boycott tw3. How dare they use nvidia technology! Never forgive, never forget!!!

No im pointing out that the boycott announced by the op is becouse the use of hardware exclusive software it has nothing to do with the game "being only graphics" as you wrote.

False, You will be able to play tw3 on every capable card on the market no matter the brand. Some graphics features will not be available on amd cards, and because of these few graphics features he is not going to buy whole game even though it would run just fine on his hardware. There is no excuse for this stupidity.

What i understand from your statement is that boycott is ok as long as it is "statement against nvidias unjust marketing"

Well its not the lack of those graphic features thats the problem its WHY they are lacking. Theres a big difference.

I agree with op that what nVidia are doing with PhysX is totally wrong. If you want to boycott games becouse of that is not up to me to decide im not that drastic at least and will not boycott TW3. I hope you finally understand what im saying i know my english isnt at top.

This really comes down to the eternal struggle between the "Haves (nvidia physx) and the have nots (AMD)

Man up buy an Nvidia Card. I recently purchased my first AMD card.......So I can XP TRESSFX the way it was meant to be played in Tomb Raider. My Nvidia Cards tanked on the TRESSFX.

The new nVidia drivers are messed up.Not only do they decrease preformance in almost every game but they destroy about 3% of the graphic cards that are using it(mostly in the 6xx and 7xx series),so my advice, stick with AMD...

Generally most GPU drivers new ones tend to have bugs and problems. That why I don't update mine often. But I have seen no proof they have destroyed any graphics cards merely the typical issues that come with new set of drivers like blue screen, black screen, error messages. AMD cards are not immune to bugs and problems when new drivers get released either.

Rule of thumb regardless of brand, don't be the first to volunteer to try out any new driver for any hardware, not unless you like spending your time resolving/fixing and giving feedback on problems with them. The first to volunteer in life is generally the one that goes splat so that the problems can be made known that's why first to try something is not often in the record books, its the first to succeed that gets recorded.

I am surprised you resorted to scare mongering about Nvidia though, I know you have an AMD card and it annoyed you earlier that never went with Nvidia prior to finding out about Adv PhysX but that's no reason to go around saying things like if buy Nvidia cards, their drivers will blow your cards up...

@IceEpicX: I think in latest drivers Nvidia simply dropped support for 7xxx Geforce series (and before). So I'm not sure what you call by "destroyed".

IceEpicX is right about this, and it is a serious problem. Thank you for bringing it up.

It's nothing to do with 7xxx cards going off support (which they did as of the 310 drivers).

It is not mere scaremongering, and it is irresponsible to dismiss it as such.

There are a lot of Fermi and Kepler GPUs that have had the magic smoke let out after updating to the 320.18 driver. See the thread on the official nVidia forums as a starting point. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/544882/geforce-drivers/official-nvidia-320-18-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-5-23-13-/62

WARNING: If you upgrade to nVidia 320.18 and see display artifacting that wasn't there before, exit immediately and roll back to a 314 or 310 driver. You should be able to use System Restore to roll back.

Good to know Guy N'wah, that's indeed a serious issue. Aren't 320 drivers still beta ones though?

UPDATE: Ah, I checked the version of the release for the Linux driver. Windows ones apparently have different numbering.

Woah, that's crazy. I know both have had driver issues in the past, but I didn't know a company could fail to test their hardware that badly. I'd be interested to know if anything like this has happened in the past too, for both AMD and Nvidia. (I heard about nvidia gtx 460 thing a year ago in that very same linked thread about the current problem.

Love how the op takes out of context something simple like an extra feature and claim that CDProjekt is killing AMD users lol.

On a sidenote, i own a GTX660 and with the 320.18 drivers and i haven't noticed anything weird should i roll back to the old drivers?.

Zordana, to be safe yes do it. I've also read that it reduced performance even when it didn't kill hardware.

I think 314 is safe from what I read.

It aparently is only affecting 3% of all cards with the driver installed, but that's pretty high (3 in 100). So yeah, roll back immediately.

Also about your first statement, it's not killing us, it's just that we think it's going to hurt the game as a whole and make it less than it could have been, for everybody. Limiting the gpu effects to simple particle things and wibbly wobbly glows.

Totally agree with you man, hope they can make both GPUs look good.

Edit: Just rolled back to 314, oh god huge performance increase.

Looks like this happened before in 2010: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/warning-nvidia-196-75-drivers-can-kill-your-graphics-card/7551

As soon as someone finds proof that cards getting completely destroyed by bad drivers(not the puny non destroying ones that both big brands get), I'll go eat a humble pie. Until then, well, *smug face*.

Nvidia, the way it's meant to be played...
