Iconic Cyberpunk 2020 <role> characters from TV-series and movies (and other fiction)

So, I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can collect some iconic (and less so) characters from TV-series and movies, and why not from other fiction as well (books, games, etc.) who exemplify one of the Cyberpunk 2020 roles. Basically there's an almost unlimited amount of these characters, especially for some of the roles, so feel free to keep posting them as long as you can think of some.

Perhaps once we've collected a good amount we can haz a couple polls to determine which character is the epitome of each role according to the people on these forums.

It would be good if you'd post your shit in a certain format, so it'll be easier to compile the suggestions and easier for people to read the posts. Throw in a 1-10 rating of how perfect of an exemplar the character is of the role. Here's the roles to remind you all, in the order they appear in the 2020 rulezbook:

 • Rockerboy
 • Solo
 • Netrunner
 • Techie
 • Medtech
 • Media
 • Cop
 • Corporate
 • Fixer
 • Nomad

Keep in mind that while the character should be exactly one of those roles, the character does not have to be in the Cyberpunk genre. Obviously though a corporate in a fantasy setting doesn't really exist.

Anyways, here's an example. This character is from a new, great series, and seems to represent this role quite well:

Role: Fixer
Character: Ray Donovan
Source: Ray Donovan (TV-series)
Rating: 8

Also, this isn't a serious thread so don't take it seriously, and you don't have to format your answer so meticulously. So, let's get some posts going.

Socially disfunctional genius with tastes for the macabre and the alternative scene. Heavily reliant on caffine and stimulants to exist.

To continue with the fixers, and this time one from an actual Cyberpunk movie.

And I guess we can throw in a compilation from a single series...

Role: Solo
Character: John Reese
Source: Person of Interest (TV-series)
Rating: 9

Role: Netrunner / Corporate / Fixer (he's a complicated guy)
Character: Harold Finch
Source: Person of Interest (TV-series)
Rating: 9 / 7 / 7

Role: Cop
Character: Lionel Fusco
Source: Person of Interest (TV-series)
Rating: 9

Role: Netrunner
Character: Root
Source: Person of Interest (TV-series)
Rating: 8

Role: Fixer
Character: Zoe Morgan (a very small part, but because it's Paige Turco...)
Source: Person of Interest (TV-series)
Rating: 8

Hell, this series has a plethora of these archetypes. Awesome series by the way.

Buuut..Lenny was a terrible fixer! Really, quite a lot of iconic characters were pretty poor at their jobs. But, that is part of what made them great1

Character: Rick Deckard
Role: Cop/Solo
Source: Bladerunner
Rating: 2/6
I know, a cliche. BUT, I choose him for two reasons: one, multi-role. He's barely a cop and mostly a killer. Two, he's pretty crap at the first and not-great at the second. What makes him a great blade runner is his persistence and intuition. I would give him high Cool, Empathy, Body and Human Perception.

Well, aren't fixers supposed to be a bit terrible? I've always thought of them as the failers, as the tried-so-hards and never-got-theres. Lenny exemplifies that to me.

Yeah, let's try not to derail this thread into yet another pole vault puppy love festival.

Who?

Also the problem with you guys handing out all these high ratings is, what about when someone who really, really deserves a 9 or 10 shows up? Like Batman! Or Judge Dredd!

You're telling me Dredd is only 1 Special Ability point better than some forgettable LA cop stuck in the future? Hurtful, Chris.

I wasn't taking at as 'special ability' rating, more 'suitability' rating.

John Spartan would have Authority 3 - No one really cares what he says and most idiots argue with him.
3 sea shells - nuff said...

Dredd - Authority 10.
"I AM THE LAW!"
(Stalone Dredd - Authority 7, at best. Only Karl Urban or the actual comic gets a 10.)

Oooh. Like, "how Cyberpunk Is ThiS Character"? That's a good idea. In which case Lenny from Strange Days would be at least a 7..maybe a 9. Such a perfect Fixer, for the Role.

And Deckard made a terrible Cop , in both the cyberpunk sense, ( no way near tough enough) and as a Cop. Also a terrible Solo. Such an iconic character and yet doesn't really fit any of the Roles.

I agree totally on Dredd Stallone rating. 7, tops.

Barring the space travel aspects, Firefly is actually the best representation of a Cyberpunk 2020 nomad family I have ever seen.

That was my thinking with the rating number. Or rather, how well the character represents the role in question, regardless of the backdrop and genre. Also, those ratings are just one's personal opinions, obviously. The number's I've given may be a bit high. MacGyver is definitely a 10 though!

Role: Fixer
Character: Yuri Orlov
Source: Lord of War
Rating: 8

The man saw a botched hit, resulting in the two attackers getting shot and thought "Hmmm, I could make a lot of money keeping these guys in guns and ammo..." He leads multiple lives, selling guns, ammo and hardware to every side of every fight. He exploits family connections to secure the cheapest deals possible. He buys lavish cars, properties, furnishings and clothes with his profits and even bags himself his dream trophy wife...
He witnesses war crimes and genocide, perpetrated with his merchandise and still keeps trading. His wife and child leave him and his brother, his only true friend, is killed in front of him. He still keeps trading.

He is the quintessential fixer. (He lost 1 mark because he had an issue with killing the man who killed his uncle and awould have killed him. He ost another mark for initially refusing cocaine as a method of payment for some guns.)

Rating: 3 (she was trying to call the shots, but hopelessly outclassed by others on the team)

Role: netrunner
