If CDPR is going the new city, new characters route then...

First off, V is going to find a way to survive. Let's say for instance that when Hellman gave V the Relic 2.0 blueprints he wasn't very forthcoming with the info he provided. He's a corpo swine and lying for them is second nature. V has these blueprints and can show them to anyone. Maybe send a copy to Vik or maybe let Hasan Demir have a look. He is a former Zetatech engineer, after all. Anyway, deeply embedded within the blueprints are the detailed instructions of how to manufacture, program and deliver the nanites needed to alter one's DNA to the DNA of an engram. All they would then need to do is find someone (other than Hellman and Arasaka) that can do this and a sample of V's DNA. Maybe Night Corp? Militech would be out of the question because of their ties to Rosalind Myers and the NUSA. Maybe Mr. Blue Eyes (that could also be Night Corp).

With all that being said, CDPR could keep the DLC coming because why relegate a game of this magnitude, popularity and success to the dustbin of video game history simply for something shiny and new? I mean, CDPR can walk and chew gum at the same time... can't they?

There is still so much to be done in NC. V takes over the old Atlantis club and makes that their base of operations. V's begins to assemble a small army of collaborators to assist in the venture of cleaning up NC. Anyone that V had helped would jump at the chance to help them. For example: Nika Yankovich in Dogtown. If V helped Nika convince Anderson (Dogtown ripperdoc) to tell her what happened to her brother, Nika would gladly join V's endeavor (and so on). I'm convinced that Nika and her brother were not true Scavs. They have a sense of family and only joined as a means of survival. With her brother gone, she wants nothing to do with them. Others that would join: Of course Judy, Panam, Mitch and the other Aldecaldos, Hasan Demir, Jefferson and Elizabeth Peralez (after some help coming back to their senses), all the fixers that V impressed (especially Muamar who desperately wants to clean up the water), probaby the Mox (Judy could help with that). Then there's Songbird. For those that chose to send her to the moon and told her she could've just told the truth and V would've helped anyway (my favorite choice because that's how my V rolls). If anyone owes V a debt of gratitude, it's So Mi. She, we'll assume has also been cured.

There doesn't really need to be more NCPD crime alerts, or many side missions or gigs even unless they're tied to actual missions with intel that could be useful.

Some missions (not necessarily in this order) and developments could be:
T-Bug is alive and V, upon finding this out, is beyond livid. T-Bug has to pay.
Cleaning up NC. Help Muamar and his people clean up the water by providing him with resources klepped from the corps that caused all of the pollution.
NCPD police commissioner Jerry Fawlter. Anyone that did most of the NCPD alerts know that he set up his own cops to be flatlined by various gangs. He's gotta go!
Mitch is good at logistics and procurrement so he finds a way to get rid of all the trash at the landfills (among other things) and provide aerial surveillance.
Keep Misty around as motivational support. A kind soul like her is a rarity in NC and she would definitely be an asset.
Vik Vector (everyone's fave ripperdoc who also may have been instrumental in V's cure) is in 100%.
Find out who was altering the Peralez's memories and thought patterns and let them decide ultimately what to do with them. We know Maelstrom did the dirty work.
You can actually wipe out the gangs by attrition or until they concede and decide to live more fruitful lives.
Since Jago is actually the better choice to lead Dogtown (Hands eventually agreed too) convince him and Hands to attract more outside investment for Dogtown.
Go after Myers for using So Mi to breach the Blackwall, nearly causing her death. And for overhearing that she wanted So Mi killed at the spaceport. 'nuf said.
Open the casino just outside North Oak and of course, the tunnel leading to it. Lots could happen there.
Rogue becomes sort of an advisor to V since she wants to devote much more quality time to her son.
Johnny, for whatever reason, was never absorbed by Alt like the other engrams. She just sorta kept him on a short leash while he acquired his own abilities. He makes contact with V early on through a text telling V to answer a holo they're about to receive. Here's Johnny! Who knows, maybe at the end of all this Johnny and Alt can actually come back to humanity. Hell, it's Cyberpunk. Anything's possible!
There could be much more as I'm sure I'm forgetting tons of stuff.

I'd say this could be done in one large near full-game dlc or 2 mid-size dic. IMHO it would be a travesty to let this game die an inglorious death just to make way for something new. Since this would still be done using Red Engine all the assets are basically still there with no need to convert everything to Unreal 5. New storylines and voice acting would have to be done of course. Yeah, I know, that stuff doesn't happen overnight either but, it could be done nonetheless.

Since Cyberpunk 2 (aka: Orion) won't be here until at least 2030 we definitely could use a booster or two. For older players like me 10 years between games is a bit much to ask. Regular DLC is regular revenue. Like I said above, I believe CDPR can walk and chew gum at the same time. Plus, they could once again get Virtuos Games to help out.

I know this is a long post but, as you may have surmised by now, I really love this game. I've played all Deus Ex, Far Cry and Metro games and thoroughly enjoyed them. But, Cyberpunk 2077 is on a whole new level in a class by itself! I'm about to start my 17th playthrough and hoping to reach my 15th completion (2 were disrupted by mod issues so I fixed them and started over... no biggie). All critiques and suggestions are more than welcome. As Spock once said: Captain, you procede from false assumption. I am a Vulcan, I have no ego to bruise.

I agree that CDPR could have earned much more from the DLC. Waiting 10 years for Cyberpunk 2 is too long. New content could have kept a large audience engaged.

Except that creating new content would most likely push away even further the release of the next Cyberpunk game... Nobody want that, right?
