anyone care to explain why everyone move to it instead of friday ?

Hey, believe me, I would -love- to play it. And I preordered as well, because I'm a sucker.

Not sure about the Tuesday date...but hey. Imagine if they moved it forwards to the Friday the 22nd? Now, THAT would suck.

I instantly regret even suggesting it.

Bad mod! Bad! Self-ban mode engage!

Your friends won't be playing it, because there have been very few street dates broken. If your friends managed to find a store that did so, that's great luck (?), but they are in a tiny minority. I hope they enjoy their framerate issues.

Sorry, but that "tiny minority" is publishing the complete story or even looting guides on youtube and that makes me really angry.
Even if you don't look such stuff, others do and share or speak about that content, whether you want or not.
I don't know if CDPR had problems with the PC release version but I would have liked, if they were little bit more flexible and had adapt the release date for all platforms after this PS4 leak.
The current solution doesn't look very costumer-friendly.

Edit: You will find the TW3 sex scenes on youtube, too.

Quoted for truth. There is a hell of a lot more involved in changing a released date then sending a few e-mails. Isn't Witcher 3 an adult game? how did so many children get on the forums?

Now, now.

Mustn't be snippy. Well, mustn't be so obviously snippy. Everyone shares a desire - play the game now. Or, preferably, yesterday. Just some of us are, ah, less used to waiting for what they want, perhaps?

I'm sure it ALLLL be fine this time next week.

AhahahaOHHHOAHAHAHAHAH. Ah. Ha.

Ah, me.

Seriously, patience, folks. It's a handy skill to have. A few more days and this angst will be a fading memory...until the next major game release.

How is a global release date of May 19th 1am CET time a big FU to PC fans? 99.9999% of console users DON'T have access to the game. They did not have staggared release date with console users getting it now and pc gamers getting it later. ISOLATED shops in a FEW countries have released the game early. I remember this happening to an all PC title, a store in Scandinavia, I believe in Denmark released Europe Universalis III early by accident and no one claimed unfairness or demanded an early release for everyone even though a guy on the forums had the game.

Yes, yes I do. Let us to the be...oh wait. You said "multiplayer session". I read...never mind.

Now I feel disgusted with myself. Again.

ANYWAY, as I manage to turn things to my beloved topic again, sadly W3 won't have multiplayer...but Cyberpunk 2077 (might) wil! And then finally, FINALLY all of you can take out your moderator frustration on me. Because I am teh bads.

And I probably won't* ban people that gank, spawn camp and teabag me. A whole lot.

Physical copies will obviously exist and can act as backup. There wouldn't be a need to hold the digital copy hostage for weeks just so physical copies can be shipped when the retail market becomes a niche.

Nope, I have a hard copy for the PC but can't get the game to launch. Day 1 patch is needed.

Yeah the woeful ignorance puppy rises again. The time between a product going gold and the time it is released isn't SOLELY for shipping. Even ditigal only games released on steam have a period between going gold and release. Why? because it gives the company time to switch from production of the game to support. It allows time to fix issues day 1 patch, it allows a company time to organize and fine tune any infrastructure needs they might require for a release. All this goes on WHILE physical copies get shipped but even when there are no physical copies to ship a company needs time to transition. This is why going gold doesn't automatically equal a release date, because there is a lot still to do.

The above is no where near a comprehensive list of things that have to get done it is a list to show the woefully ignorant that there is a lot more involved then they think.

Where did I ever claim that the only reason it's held back is shipping? I work in the software industry and I know precisely what it entails. If you really want to get technical, the development team would have moved on weeks before a version is declared gold, because as soon as they are done with coding, they all need to be put together, compiled, QAed, sent for certification from MS/Sony and only then it is declared gold. The developers aren't involved with most of this and would have moved on during that time to support by developing next set of fixes into patch or developing DLC.
All I said was it would cut down on the weeks of time that exist now. If you really believe that companies would still take 5 weeks to release a game after a version is declared GOLD(which itself is weeks after they had finished working on that version) if they were digital only, I think you are wrong. So, how about you stop calling people ignorant.

I wonder if there's a strategy involved where companies/businesses only release specific games on specific days cause of other games being released on other days.
