If you could play TW3 for $300, would you?

Just a random question... let's say for $300 you could somehow obtain a fully complete copy of TW3 right now, would you take the deal?

Oh and yes, I would... yes, I am that impatient plus from all I've seen of the game, it's worth $300 to me anyway. Just curious if I'm alone in my inability to wait.

Yes, I would. I won't go bankrupt after spending $300, so what the hell? Bring it on!

I'd rather wait until they are actually done testing and debugging. Other wise you woyld be paying $300 to work as a game tester, facing potential game breaking bugs.

To be honest, I would be happy to be a tester for TW3. Just imagine - to see it all in development, all changes made, and to have your name in credits, probably somewhere on 5th minute and in tiny font, but still...

No thanks. I list The Witcher franchise as one of my favorite gaming experiences I've had, but 300 bucks for a ("unfinished") game and one that comes out quite soon enough, is a bit ludicrous were you to ask me.

Well, if I test and they pay me for it, you shouldn't even ask if I want it or not. I have never really thought about career change, but as a second job - sign me up!

About $300 - if they go on kickstarter, I would give them more just to show my support. To give them $300 now for a pre-alpha, as a kickstarter alternative, say, knowing full well that my money would go on further development, sure! I have a bit of money to burn... once in ten years. ;)

May be yes, only if it would be released for Linux. (That can be considered funding part of the porting). No otherwise, since I won't pay so much for something that I won't be able to use, hehe.

Supporting projects like Divinity Original Sin with donations makes more sense - they expressed interest in supporting Linux from the start.

I proposed such idea before (to fund Linux port of TW3 through crowfunding), but most here found it impractical, claiming that using crowdfunding is a bad idea for a big company. Though I still disagree.

No, I want to experience the full game when it is ready and truly done, I can wait for a masterpiece.

May be, if it is at all possible, CDPR can make some kind of emulator, or whatever it is called, that would allow to play TW3 on Linux. I don't really know anything about differences in OS, and programming for different systems, so I do not know if something of this sort is possible.

You guys misunderstood... this was a purely hypothetical question. I meant would you pay $300 right now for a fully finished TW3. I'm well aware that it doesn't exist yet...

No.

I would not.

It would send out the wrong message.

Well, in the worst case, if they never release a native port, Wine project will enable DirectX 11 support at some point, and hopefully TW3 will be playable on Linux through it. My concern is simply that it can take long time still. Wine project marked DX11 as a long term planned feature without definitive dates. CDPR are welcome to contribute to Wine of course (after all they benefit from it - they use Wine in their release of TW1 for Mac OSX).

Well, if it is $50 for the game and $250 for a time machine ticket, then I would be ecstatic. I would also get a bunch of old newspapers with lottery winning numbers, so these $250 would be the best investment I have ever made. I wouldn't want to run into myself though, that would probably lead to self-destruction.

No, i dont have a single problem with patience.

In fact when i hear some of my friends or people say that they'll miss this or those exclusives or games, i always tell them, someday you'll play it, just play something else now.

And just like that some day, maybe 8 or 10 years or more in the future, i'll play xbone exclusives for example.
