Really do like the combat in W3:
- responsive (much much more than W2)
- dodging is really important, does give a lot of advantage when done right
- fast and hard attacks do have their pros and cons (but here I have to say I think hard attacks should hit little bit harder, sometimes it seems fast attacks are better ... but only sometimes, not all over the place)
- used rolling twice within 20 hours ... always with big monsters, because dodge sometimes doesn't generate enough space --> so really improved this mechanic compared to W2
-really nice animations
-parrying is important and even can be done with some monsters (I do like this)

Some things to address imho:
- more active skills or manually strikes/attacks (but actually I'm lvl 6 ... there's maybe things like this to come )
-parrying is quite nice, what I do dislike is that there is no special move afterwards ... would really be easy to implement some nice animations after parrying (like one of the finishing moves, just without instant kill, did really like this mechanic from demon souls)
(Here again, there is a skill called counterattack ... maybe it does enable some special animation after parry ... is somebody does know this, I would be really thankful if he tells me ...)

Haha I know exactly what you're talking about, that lunge/thrust he does is amazing. Also feel you on the spinning problem, think it was most annoying on the Jenny contract. For the most part the fancy spinning does work swellingly though ^^

Also as a few other posters added can always try to cancel it out with a dodge =)

Yeah, I wish there was a modifier that would make you thrust when appropriate. It's such a great move for hitting quickly and over distance. I cringe every time I have to dodge cancel to stop his stupid spinning leap. The spinning swings have their uses though, like when you roll past a fast monster type and swing around to hit it.

I would like for the sword to not be sheathed just because you are a few meters away from the enemy. Auto-sheath really ruins it for me sometimes, caused me more than 1 death. Also, I would like to map the key for sheathing your sword personally. "C" is normally either my dodge or roll, and since I can not use "C" I use "V". Since this is right next to it I sometimes confuse it ending in Geralt trying to fight the monster(s) with his bare hands. Just, let me choose which key sheaths the sword.
