If you haven´t fight against Letho...

...you MUST improve QUEN sign. If you can, to 60 seconds.

I fought 5 times against him without improving anything important (I had 4 unused talents in level 10) and he beat me pretty easily.

But, before coming to work, I improved QUEN... it really changed a lot the fight. I mean, he beated me again two times, but both times I was pretty close to finishing him.

I couldn't play any longer, but I'm pretty sure I'll kick his ass tonight. :D

Not sure exactly how much that will help. The developers have nerfed Quen repeatedly, to the point that it expires after one good blow from a decent enemy. That means the extra duration won't help you.

To me, it's more important to have an extra Vigor point for setting Yrden traps and knocking him back with Aard. But everybody has a different style.

My strategy is this: My QUEN is longer than his QUEN. So, I cast QUEN on me and escape. I wait until he lost his QUEN and attack him two or three times. After that, I escape again and so on.

His QUEN is shorter and he usually attack you without any protection. You can cast YRDEN too and attack him with a QUEN protection, but I think always is better be protected against him, because he hit too hard and his bombs can damage you a lot.

Maybe it's a longer fight, but a sure one. I lost against him because the first time I combined other signs and he caught me without protection. And the second time I made a mistake and cast AARD (I think) instead QUEN in a moment (I'm not really good changing signs yet).

Tonight I'll kick his ass for sure... ;)

During the second replay I met Letho with 4 vigor (comparing to 2 in my first game). And I agree with Guy N'wah. In first game I had lots of problems with the fight: a lot of dodging, running and waiting for Letho's quen... With 4 vigor I almost hadn't problems. 4 Ards against Letho and strong blows and the fight was very short, surprisingly short...
I noticed that you should cast the next Ard immediately when Letho makes first block of your sword... that is the sign that he has recovered from previous Ard and is going to cast Quen soon.

Well, said and done. I beated him on my first try. In fact, he didn´t make me any damage... XD

And the fight took me exactly 4 minutes (I took the time for the potions I took before it).

The thing that kills me is that I will hit 8 to cast Quen as soon as I load the autosave. But he gets to cast, usually Quen, and then attacks before my spell even gets cast. Same thing happens all thru the fight...

Why is my animation so slow?

For me it was just running away when he had Quen active, then just blast him with Aard and hit him with heavy attacks till he blocked. Rinse and Repeat.

I never upgraded my Quen sign. Didn't use it at all before the first fight with Letho. The level it's at proved good enough.
