Im a Witcher and I feel like Im a bandit

First time I do when visiting any village is rob every house out of anything valuable. There is poverty all around, people struggling to survive, yet my rightful Gerald robs them out of their last posessions. I was thinking about not looting any living house just for roleplay. But Im afraid I might miss some rare weapon plans or quest that was hand placed inside.Does this bother anyone else?

We can assume they have far more than what we find...no one can live off a few days worth of food, when they have a seasonal re-supply. The tough life of a Death March Geralt, looting to afford his food!

BTW, i know in previous witchers you were kinda MEANT to loot everything you could find... in and out of houses...
so in TW3 ive been taking everything in front of people in their houses and having no issues... then i'm outside lookign in a barrel and a soldier almost attacks me???

so whats the actual rules of the game here, anyone know?

Doesn't bother me. I think The Witcher 2 might have just conditioned me, or maybe just playing too many videogames in general have conditioned me to not paying much mind to doing it.

I guess if you're committed to role-playing, then don't loot. You might miss out on something, maybe. But, it wouldn't be your property anyway so out of sight out of mind.
