I'm I the only one who is mildly skeptical with CDProjekt's claims about TW3?

I'm sorry, but what does this have to do with my forum thread? not saying that it's a role I wouldn't follow, I'm just confused as to why you posted this statement on this thread?

I think Valve plans to make a more generic console, so let's see how they'll compete with limited ones like Xbox and Playstation.

It always surprised me, why general purpose computers couldn't be used for console style games with gamepads. It never properly developed, while there is no real reason while it couldn't (except the console makers trying to sabotage PC gaming in general).

If you're talking about steambox, then no.

Honestly CDPR aren't any better than other devs. They have already said PC might not always be their lead platform which is extremely worrying considering they have always claimed otherwise though it's not like TW2 wasn't a console port with horrible controls and UI. Since TW3 will sell better on consoles than pc (It is marketed as a console game) all of their future games will be console games.

It also seems like some people do not undestrand that when a game is marketed as a console game it will sell well on consoles and not very well on pc and vice versa. This isn't rocket science people.

TL:DR Saying I am skeptical would be an understatement.

Really? Till now, all what I've understand from CDPR is that they are basicly PC-gamers, they make the game they like to play in the platform they prefer. If offering their product in other platforms in order to make them more affordable to certain market is possible by them they'll make it.

You know? Mercedes-B always make high quality cars for a selective and limited market but they also decided to make cars more affordable to other markets. Not so their quality has been eroded or have ceased to be true to their goals: high quality high-end.

CDPR is a brand that has made us believe that they are not sold to the highest bidder. Not sure why but I believe them. And this is very rare in my who I am very suspicious in these business and marketing issues.

Honestly, what tosh. Now I'm no sycophant, but it strikes me that rolling out free DLC and allowing those who purchased TW2 to redeem a DRM free backup copy from GOG at no charge is the antithesis of the kind of piss taking our beloved industry seems so keen to indulge in of late. Credit where it’s due FFS!

As for Wild Hunt, I found both Witcher titles to be an absolute joy (and for very different reasons) so have few concerns that this latest game won’t deliver the kind of rich, enjoyable experience I've come of expect of CDPR. In short, everything is looking superb from the POV of this PC gamer!

Nothing to do with you, or even with your thread, actually. Some members thought it was a good place to discuss piracy. It wasn't.

Their first game will be an early next Gen title , the PC version will not suffer from the game being multiplatform(unless you were hoping for CDPR to require 12 gigs of RAM for it)

From then on we will see but so far CDPR has a stellar track record and is worthy of all the faith we can have in them (not like other companies that shall not be named)

You and a lot of people are. CDPR are promising the moon and the stars with the Witcher 3 and I have my doubts if they'll be able to deliver.

I really hope they do though, it could be a revolution in open-world RPG's.

Also...it is pretty obvious the next consoles will eventually go on board with cloud gaming so...does it even matter???

I’m sorry but what has cloud gaming to do with that? Maybe I’m missing something here but I don’t see the connection.

simple, if consoles get on board with cloud gaming then the "console version of the game" will require no effort rendering every game basically a PC game with only one version with minor modification in UI. I was replying to the two posts above

I still don’t get it. Maybe we have different definitions of cloud gaming? I don’t see how, for instance, programming for the PS3’s very different hardware architecture would be easier with cloud gaming.

Very skeptical to be fair. I want them to manage... but it will be hard.
To be fair I would rather see them develop an awesome game on one platform... a game that will suck you in with it's story like a blackhole.
To be fair... graphics are nice... but I can manage with W1 graphics, I do not mind them.
Open world is nice... but will they be able to keep You on track with the story?

I dunno, I wish them to succeed but... I have my doubts, it will be hard.

having no loading screens =/= no loading.

it's possible to also load the game during cut scenes.

This.

Anyway, I was skeptical the moment I heard of these claims as well. I know it's best to think big and also that at this moment the idea is to raise interest at the game. Still, I hope it doesn't end up like W2 did - well, I don't know whether it was because of deadlines and ambitions or not, but the fact is that Act 3 felt somehow unfinished and the game ending was rushed.

I have a fairly modest rig (AMD 7850, AMD Phenom II 965 @ 3.4 ghz) that can run TW2 at max and beyond (using SweetFx) with no issues. What do you consider high end?
