I'm stuck! A blank screen when I face Azar Javed!

I've tried reloading about 3 times now, and everytime Azar teleports my down to his laboratory the screen goes blank. I get the sound, but no action; the screen goes blank as if a dialogue was gonna start. Any solutions?I'm not sure who to go to for this...ThanksWitcherWomanGS

Sad to say that your savegame is corrupted... have you applied the patch while in the middle of the act ? If so, do you have a save that takes you back to the beggining of the act ? If not, there is a thread i can look up and find peeps that could send you a working savegame.

Hmm, well I know I did get the patch after I'd begun, but it certainly wasn't during this act. I suppose it doesn't make a difference; I'll try starting the act again. Shot for the help; feel slightly less worried!

hmm..have completed the first area, almost all of it while playing the demo. Now I have the full game installed + 1.3 patch, I can't get into the city. Same problem, screen goes blank. I really don't want to start all over again, but it might be worth it when the enhancements are released. I was surprised at the time when I saw all my saves from the demo, after installing the full game. I think there should have been a warning about saved games :(Alan

There have been many such. Pinned threads exist for a reason, and discarding demo saves is just one of the many very good reasons to take advantage of that resource.

That's all very well, but I think it's a bit stupid of the authors of this game to allow all the saved games of the demo to appear in the full game. After all, there is no reason to come to this forum for trouble-shooting until a problem arises. It's just wasted players a lot of time to start all over again. Unimpressive to say the least!Alan

Well the biggest thing is the demo is missing a bit of content from the regular game. It is a demo first and foremost, and not the full Prologue and Act 1 of the game so it should be expected that content is cut. Thus you're better off playing from the beginning regardless and trying all the quests and content that is missing even if the demo saves are still showing up. The demo is not supposed to be, and never has been in any game, the entire beginning of a game that you can continue from.

It's probably the culture of my game-playing. It's incredibly rare for me to replay a game so going over the very long start to this game is a boring to say the least, but I'm perservering because all in all it's a good game with great story. Just put this one down to experience :)Alan

Oh I don't blame ya for sure. :)There really needs to be a fix that blocks demo save files out when a retail game is played. That tends to solve all the demo save problems right off the bat.

well I've tried to restart from the beginning of the act, but it's still crashing. Can someone send me that 'uncorrupted' safe file? or whatever it it is? I really want to finish this game now! grrr!

So, should I re-install the game, and if so; is there a way to do it without losing the patch?

Uhoh! My PC just crashed big time. I can't even turn it on! This is so rediculous it's funny! I'm not even sure it was because I re-installed the game or something. Nonetheless I'll have to take it in tomorrow! (The problem one has with cheap PC's!)(and if you were wondering; I'm on my laptop now! lol
