Randomly, enemies may spawn immortal, its quite random and it looks like it is not bound to a player action. If you save/load the game, the enmies are mortal again, so i think it is very hard to address this issue.

This just happened to me. But my enemies were not immortal, nothing was doing any damage. To test this, I fired my rocket launcher into the ground at my feet and i took no damage. Also, the enemy weapons were doing no damage. Reloading prior save did not fix it for me, I had to completely exit and restart the game to clear it.

I have run into the same issue. Enemies can still be killed with System Reset quick hack though, which I expect is bypassing doing damage entirely and just knocking enemies out.

I was trying to finish one of the NCPD missions and a gonk was glitched under the stairs where I couldn't shoot her. She kept saying "I'm right here" in a "what are you gonna do about it" kind of way. It's kind of funny that the game trolls the player, unintentionally but still funny.

Yeah, sounds like it's tricky to reproduce.

Sometimes enemy immortality is related to V's mods. But if it gets back to normal after reloading that's probably not it.

Did you install a mod for Cyberpunk, or is it just the base game?

Also happened to me a few times. Base game here. Also, by the end of the game V is literally a tank on legs but a little barrel or car exploding instantly flatlines you. A 10mph car hits you and bam, instantly flatlined. Hell, I even got flatlined by walking through scrap in the garbage part of the city...

For me it is 100% related with Johnny's gun; if used in fight at least one of enemies from the group can't be killed. If if leave him and move to the next group another one becomes immortal. Tried with fully modded pistol and without any mods. Result's the same. Its bad luck as this gun is really nice.

Edit #1: After game restart same happening with other weapons. Enemies staying almost at 0 health.
Edit #2: Fixed, no more undead. One of following did the trick; freeing space on C drive and/or shrinking page file size to minimum.

Hi all,

I encountered this problem as well during a mission.
I believe there are 2 different issues discussed in this thread:
- enemies don't take damage
- enemies don't die when damage bar is depleted

I encountered and recorded the second.

In my case it seems like enemies are unable to die from non-lethal types of damage from weapons that have non-lethal damage due to pax mod or apply a non-lethal effects ( electric, thermal, chemical, maybe even bleeding ).
Copperhead has a Pax mod. Removing the mod, the bug occurs much less often. When it rarely occurs, I suppose is because of low bleeding chance the weapon has.
Shotgun deals thermal damage, and sometimes burring enemies don't die when final hit is thermal.
Skippy deals electric damage, same things happens as with the shotgun.
Sir John Phallus deals chemical damage, same here.
The sword deals only physical, lethal damage. Bug doesn't seem to occur with it.

What seems to solve the problem is using a quickhack, Suicide, on enemies in combat.
After the a full health enemy dies from the quickhack, the problem is solved. Pax also starts working properly again.
I tested every weapon again and they all work fine now.

I tried going back a few hours in the save files. Problem occurs there as well, I just didn't notice before.
I suppose the mission itself is not the cause.
I did some more testing on random encounters:
- enemies always die in stealth, lethal or non-lethal, takedown, weapon or quickhack
- in my case the problem only occurs in on enemies in combat state

After fixing the problem with quickhacks I wasn't able to reproduce it again. Not sure what triggers it.
Pretty sure it's related to "ultimate quickhacks" like Suicide and System reset.

Important to notice is that I also have the ability for ultimate hacks to spread to a second enemy. You can see in the video that the second enemies doesn't always die from the quickhack. And he and his buddy become immortal.

Fairly sure the problem carries over when saving and reloading game files, so it's some kind of "state" that is also saved in the files. Restarting the game and pc doesn't solve it either.

After continuing with the story for a few more hours, I haven't encountered the problem anymore.

I just had the immortal enemies bug hit. I can hit them with grenades and knock them off their feet with the explosion but deal absolutely no damage. I can beat them with a stun baton and they fall to their knees but they get right back up, no damage. Exited the game and restarted it, no change.

I hadn't any of these problems on my first two playthroughs (nomad and streetkid). But I also don't think it's related to the corpo background (at least I hope it isn't). But the bug appeared immediately in the Maelstrom mission and in the escape from the Arasaka tower. Only thing I could do was constantly avoiding combat (sneaking) and reloading. As long as the combat music doesn't start I can silently incapacitate enemies. But once the combat starts I can reduce them to 0 hitpoints but they don't die ... or do get up immediately like mjbennett1978 alredy stated.

A little bit farther along in the game it seems to appear rather random (e.g. on regular burglaries ... but not always). Not sure what causes it. Some times reloading an earlier quicksave can work, most of the times it sadly doesn't help. So the only chance I currently have is to focus on non-combat solutions ... which sucks.

Hi there. I couldn’t play for 2 days because of immortal enemies. First round on the street a group, it was no problem .. I continued walking. However, when "Sandayu Oda

" had to fight there I got stuck. I tried everything and then all I did today was unload all the quick hacks from the deck. I dismantled Pax everywhere. That's how I could beat him. I don't know if it was a mistake or something stuck here. Maybe he'll help someone. :giggle:

Just encountered the undamagable npcs. It isn't specific npcs its all npcs.
It started when I killed 2 tyger claws next to Viktor's, aggroed the tyger claws at the basketball courts and I shot one of them from about 50 yards away with a smart Ashura rifle to the head and his health bar was white instead of red, did zero damage then after that my guns wouldn't do any damage to anything at all.

The whole situation with the long ranged shot on an enemy with a white health bar, even the other two with him had red health bars for being engaged in combat. His head jerked back from the hit just didn't do no damage like the game was trying to calculate damage and crapped itself.

should add, I use no mods, only vanilla game. Was also using an Ashura rifle with the special 'doesn't need a smart link to use smart link aiming' thing on it.

I thought it was really cool when that Maelstrom cyberpsycho regained all her health at once while touching her altar!

*pause*

Wait, no, that's just a bug.

Hi everyone. I have a critical bit of info. Did you know that loading of assest, lights, objects, sounds all interfere with player inputs.

If the game engine is proccesing data you can run into issues such as: radio, change view, weapon draw, slide, enemy death, enemy hit and other sounds and or object fail to work as intended until the engine finishes whatever list of processes it was completing.

If you drive into an are fast, hop out and can't draw weapons or you fatally shot a thug and they won't die - it all catches up eventually but is a critical flaw when it comes to heavy combat, the game engine bottlenecks and we get non responsive controls and enemies that have died but are yet to be processed as shot-hit-died.

So many issues stem from the debauchery that is the streaming of the open world - it bottlenecks, interferes with gameplay functions

I've had a few I've run into that couldn't take damage. Really curious what causes this.
