Import Item List

Is there a list released by the developers which states items that will import from TW1 to TW2?

I have seen this: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Saved_game_import but is that all?

No jewelry for example, say a gold and diamond necklace

Nope, nothing like that. I don't know if that list is 100% complete, but it definitely gives you the right idea. Just certain swords and armor plus a little bit of orens.

I haven't seen any imports that aren't mentioned in that list.

Note "G'valchir" in the wiki's list = "Mahakaman rune sihill" in the English localization.

Ok. That's the one I always take. Its shame you can't take both Aerondight and Moonblade. Moonblade is better in my opinion, but I can't just leave Aerondight behind

So I always sell the other rune sihill and keep the other.

Yep. I had heard that. I wouldn't give De Wett the satisfaction. Haven't played the
TW2 yet, but planning on import.

I'm always behind on sequels as I first play prequels very thoroughly.

I guess CDPR wants people to buy TW1 and change that scenario, however small impact it makes in TW2.

Though not possible for us Xbox users. But that doesn't stop anyone for still buying the first game. I did that, even though I'm buying the sequal to 360.

So it seems Geralt lost his awesome book and scroll collection, tens of jewels and jewelry pieces, potions and ingredients, basilisk hides, giant centipede carapaces, thirty thousand orens, alcohol collection, steel and silver sword (witcher), collection of elven weaponry, runes, ores, talismans and much more.

Women can be so nasty, when they go through your trophy chest

Well, one might argue that it was all there in the tent in the Temerian camp in the beginning, but was lost due to certain events and Geralt's new-found outlaw-ness. You know, if you need a justification for logic's sake.

That's right. Blame the woman. :)
He probably lost it all playing dice. Or got drunk one night and then forgot where he'd stashed it.
(And do you really need an explanation on what happened to that alcohol collection during a month of inactivity? I had more than 30 bottles in mine, and I know exactly where it went.)

Women, perfect excuse for our own mistakes
Or this magic chest, that follows you to every tavern, just walked of and found Two-Flowers.

It's almost a shame that all my orens didn't transfer over. The most recent import I did I had 20,000 orens by the end of TW1. Then again, it probably would have taken away a some of the need for "Witcher's work" if I was so rich right away.

Speaking of this, CDP explained it months ago, before the game releasing. They said that importing orens from Tw1 would ruin the economy of W2. And I think it's pretty true. By the way, probably on Magic and swordmanship development you don't need so many cash. On alchemy I don't know

Did they mean make the sequel too easy? Or is there really an economy in TW2?
A good link perhaps

There is so little use for large sums of money in TW2 (unless you're crafting Dark Mode items) that it's hard to describe the game economy as "important".

Swordsmen probably need the most money, for weapon upgrades and crafting weapons. Alchemists are second, if you play with a preference for buying ingredients instead of foraging for them. Even if you forage for everything, you still have to buy formulas.

Having enormous sums carrying over from TW1 would still be unbalancing in Act I and would be game-breaking in Dark.

Glad to do it, it was in The Witcher 2 Faq from Szypek26. Unfortunalty the thread has been removed or lost coz I cannot find it any more.

Found only this link
http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/20997-ask-the-dev-team-about-tw2/page__view__findpost__p__657933

If you browse a little that thread, you can also find that info about "ruin Tw2 economy".

Yeah, I always end up sticking with Aerondight. Even though Moon Blade is probably better, it just seemed wrong to drop it after being knighted with it.
